The Cold Steel AD10 is the best knife money can buy.

Sorry can’t let go of this - OP wins!

…So, you really think a factory produced CS AD-10 is better than a custom AD-10 made by Demko? C’mon dude… 🙄

If I can only have one folding knife to be my everything knife, the Cold Steel AD10 is that knife...PERIOD.

Get over it...

I've been reading this thread since day one. After you went and put something other than your best foot forward with the way you started the thread and worded your opinions, you could have learned something from your fellow knife enthusiasts - even the snarky ones.

Merry Christmas, anyway.

Lol - I’m completely fine with that!

In fact you could say the same thing about a Ganzo and I’d have your back.

Why? Because this is a statement about YOUR preference, rather than some sort of “fact”. 👏

My #2 favorite folding knife is the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in S45VN steel. It is a precision cutting tool---absolutely amazing.

So… sounds like the custom is more finely finished, slightly heavier, and more durable. Sounds about right - and if price was no object I’d have already purchased one. :)

As much as I like Crocodile Dundee , I prefer saying stuff like “The Cold Steel AD10 is definitely not the best knife that money can buy , in my opinion” 😂 I’ll give you some time to scramble and respond. I’ll just sit here sipping my tea while enjoying all this freedom. I’m enjoying this thread. Merry Christmas , “fanboy” 🎄😃
Merry Christmas, my friend. And, I must agree with you; this thread has been absolutely stimulating.
I admire your candor, Wolverine. It is precisely the kind of stimulating encounter I'd hoped to find here on Blade Forums.

I have that knife as well, and it is an incredible knife. But, it's no where near as robust as the Cold Steel AD10.
it doesnt really matter for regular edc though, what would you be doing with a pocket knife that would break the manix xl other than having a guy lynn thompsons size trying to do some pullups with them on camera while they are stuck in wood

also i wish i still had a pic of my friends manix 2, he is a non knife guy and i gave him one as a gift and he used/abused it for everything you can think of, prying, cutting materials that he shouldnt have used a knife on etc.......he never cleaned or sharpened the knife and after a few years of constant use the knife still cut paper effortlessly even though it had small chips and dents, the manix knives are pretty tough

Well, I do a lot of camping, and while a fixed blade knife with a full tang like a Becker BK2 is the strongest survival knife, you could use the Cold Steel AD10 for survival knife applications that the Manix 2 XL would be more likely to succumb to rather than the Cold Steel AD10. In other words, the Cold Steel AD10 is built like a folding survival knife, and you never know what might happen when camping in a forest with over 200 square miles of wilderness to negotiate.

With that being said, the Spyderco Manix 2 XL is easier to EDC. I will give you that much if that's what you're talking about...

that doesnt matter for regular edc as the situation you are describing is a hypothetical disaster type scenario where you have lost your supplies and are left with only your pocket knife to survive like the hollywood movie TheEdge, a situation that most people will never find themselves in and dont consider as the most important reason when buying a knife for regular edc

I am not talking about an EDC situation. I'm talking about if I could only have one folding knife for my lifestyle, there is no better knife that money can buy than the Cold Steel AD10.

Please refer to my earlier posts addressing EDC where I said that I have the Para 3, Benchmade Bugout, Spyderco Sage 5 lightweight for EDC purposes. For instance, it's Christmas Day, and I'm EDCing my Para 3, but I'm not going hiking, hunting, or camping today.

I can't believe I am having to say this on Blade Forums, but not every folding knife is purchased and used for EDC purposes.... I mean, I've got a Buck 110 that I never EDC and only use as a hunting knife when dressing small game.

Wow, 7 pages of this. OP, congratulations are in order!

I bought a CS AD-10 a year or two ago when it was on sale. Seems to be one of the earlier ones with the hollow grind. The knife is very well made, came sharp, has great action, no blade play, etc. But it's huge and weighs a lot, so I think I carried it once.

I've carried mine a lot more than that, but it's not an EDC knife per se, but you could EDC it if you wanted to. Just make sure you observe your local laws because you don't want to be flashing this bad boy in front of knifeaphobic people. Also, for its size, I don't think it's that heavy.
