The future of RAT

Sounds good to me!

I have every knife in the line and like Jeff said, there's really little room for expansion there. I very rarely have a cutting need that my RAT blades can't handle.

I just yesterday recieved the "Ultimate Kit/RAT pack" and if the future of RAT is as well made as the present stuff, the future is bright.

 Dude post pics ?

I'm still waiting on the Izula with a tracking chip. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to whatever direction you guys take. Whatever you do, have fun!

Nothing to add, but I really appreciate a company that produces products that are real solutions to real problems and not just throw stuff out and see what sells.

RC understands survival. Tools PLUS knowledge. I can't think of another gear company that combines the two the way RC does.

So I'm looking forward !

Jeff and Mike-

Any ideas in your head that you know you'd like to pursue? Small day kits, a RAT Nalgene carrier designed to be a mini-kit, etc.?

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey and more money.

You know those little survival saws that TOPS and DermaSafe make? How about one of those that allows you to replace the blades? All it would take is a screw-construction pivot instead of a rivet like those guys are doing. Seems they just use a standard sawzall (TOPS) or saber saw blade (DermaSafe) It teems a waste to through the whole unit away once the blade is used up. This would also allow you to carry a few different kinds of saw blades with you (wood/metal) and change them out.

I am a member in a survival group here in Maine, Two Thrumbs up to you Guys, Love to see you Guys Move ahead !Jeff and Mike has a Member and Friend Thank You

Mike and I have been seriously considering the future of RAT and we figure we have designed just about every knife that anyone should ever need. Once we get the RC-10, Machete and folder to market, we will probably concentrate most of our efforts on mods to those knives instead of trying to come out with too many new designs. For example, stainless steel models, handle options, color options, etc. We are also turning our attention to the soft goods market since that's an area , in our opinion, that could use some major improvements in the survival market. This will most likely include designing new survival sheathing for other manufacturer's knives as an after-market option. There are some great knives out there with sheaths that really suck!

We are also working on some new survival tool ideas, but nothing nailed down yet.

Lastly, we are really ramping up the training side of our company. I had a meeting a week ago with two of the best outdoor survival instructors in this part of the country and we have some good things planned.

:thumbup::thumbup: Everything sounds great. I love it!

As for making soft goods -how about a sheath for a Mora #2:)?

Black shirts too with the RAT tag. And hats!!!

Everything sounds fantastic

Looking forward to the future and your continued success!

Gear is great, there are tons of great knives out there that could use a little back up gear. And training weighs nothing.

When I was typing that question, I thought "Why am I wasting my time with this question? Meh, at least I'm burning the calories."

Thanks for proving me right, Jeff.

I see this as good news. Finish the 10, Machete and folder and your base is done. Concentrate on improvements, quality and personal options.

If a new niche needs to be filled several years from now, adress it then.

People love your product - quality and personalization will be loved and appreciated more than anything, I think.

Well said.

I really prefer the 1095, but some stainless I wouldn't mind. Of course, the 1095 will always be my preferred version, though. ;)
