THE Hollow Handle Knife Thread

While I'm waiting for my Kizlyar "Survivalist" to get here, I'll give you one to have a good chuckle at.

I bought this cheap Chinese ripoff of an Aitor Jungle King I at a local 'feed & seed" store a few years ago for $9.99 on a goof.

It's imported by "Grand Rapids Industrial Products" No idea what "stainless" steel it is.

Couldn't resist giving it a test though.

It chopped through this limb in about 3-4 minutes.

Afterwards, the blade was slightly loose in the handle, but as you can see there is a small allen head screw that holds the blade and handle together, and after tightening with locktite, it has never come loose again.

The saw tooth back, cut through this limb in just over 30 seconds.

The handle "kit" that came with it.

Compass in handle.......not very reliable.

The sheath was a cheap nylon one, that the handle strap would not reach around enough to snap over the handle.........

Pretty much junk, but it didn't fall to pieces, and my niece's little boy thinks it's cool. :)

As long as its a hollow handle its gotta a place right here! Some cheap knives have surprised me to

I will give it credit for one "survival kill" to, it may be a cheap one, but it did a fine job on the copperhead that tried to bite me that day, took his head in one swipe. :)

Bear Claw I'm looking forward to seeing how you like the kizler too.

Today did some shooting with my daughter, practicing for a cert for me. Just having fun practicing with her. I was carrying my Martin Mce2 on the belt though.

Dave, that was today? Wow wish I was wearing aT shirt outside today, my current temperature is -3 degrees and I'm currently looking at 4 feet of snow outside. .. only good thing is me and the wife took a little snowmobile ride threw the trails today. At least your able to get out and practice shooting that's good

It was a brisk 72 degrees out there and raining lightly. Its tough to be out in such severe weather but we sucked it up and toughed it out. LMAO

ran a few rifle drills too

Lmao, lol, I'm sure you guys really went threw hell out there with that light drizzle and fair t shirt weather! Aaaahhhhhh, I gotta move!

We get up there to but only around 90-100 in June and July. .. Dave do you own any savage arms guns at all? I live 40 feet away from savage, I like there rifles allot

Nope I don't have any of the savage line. Lots of other goodies though, not one single bolt action. I keep intending to get one and some other shinny toy grabs my money first.

Hahaha, I hear you, I was actually way way outta control buying guns from 2007-2010, I had to stop my wife told me I had a gun buying addiction and wanted to put me in a rehab for it. .lol... the compound bow collection is a little outta hand too.. I just hate selling anything

Chris, regarding your $10 Chinese Jungle King, if anyone was lost in the woods without any gear and found that knife filled with survival items, they would be elated.

True, I make fun of it, but when it comes down to it, it did actually do what I asked it to, without breaking. It wouldn't be the first blade I'd grab if I knew I was headed into a survival situation, but if it was the one I had I wouldn't panic either. The saw on the back actually cut great, which is ironic to me, because that's the feature on a lot of "survival" knives that doesn't work well very often.

Not mine, but check out this unusual, rare Randall with a Model 8 blade.

I'll tell you guys what, I own a ramster, its basics the buckmaster 184 knockoff and I seriously love it, obviously my buckmaster is now considered a collector's item and I try to keep it nice but for 45 bucks for the ramster I'm not kidding its actually made very very well, very heavy and I abuse the living hell outta that thing it just won't break!! I will say for the 45 dollars I spent on that thing is the best knife for the money in my whole collection. ..I would if paid $100 dollars for the ramster and still would be worth every penny. . And remember guys, I actually use and abuse my knives for what they were built to do. ... in a survival situation ya know what I would trust that ramster I own, Its fine everything I've ever asked of it and not a rattle or a shake it till this day. Matter of fact I think I'll go strap it on, gotta go out plowing snow never know if the truck breaks and I need it

Does anyone out there know of a really good tactical style sheath for my boker apparo? I hate to just order one not knowing if it fits good or not. Any help would be great.

The spec ops combat master should fit it. You might have to take the insert out and dunk it in boiling water then reform it to the blade. I personally usually make a kydex sheath and space the grommets to fit the Esee molle back and pouch. The spec ops will work though.
