The idiot's guide to the AR-15 rifle (or an idiot building one)

local shop had a shipment of Aero Precision lowers (same as Spike's and Armalite). $75 each or buy three and the price drops to $65 each.

i've gotta go pick 'em up monday. :D

not exactly like i NEEDED more lowers, but it's hard to pass on a deal like that. BRF is when you have a shelf in the safe with nothing but virgin lowers on it... and the rest of the safe is filled with complete ARs.

a bit grainy, the lines are a lot more crisp than it looks.

i may redo the hughes logo and ESEE logo in desert tan... don't know.

man, i'm dying to gather the spare cash for my upper. boss man at work has offered to let me borrow his upper. i might take him up on it.

My build has hit a speed bump. Since we are finishing up building our house and other expenses take priority I am stuck in a holding pattern.

So far, lower, grip, trigger guard and lpk...ug. Still a long way to go.

I finally order some parts for my ESEE lower. all OD Green Magpul stuff, saving my cash for an Upper still ? I also took a chance on a lower parts kit, Got better reviews than the DPMS & RRA kits ,SS Timberwolf lower kit.

You will lose 3 ninja points, but most quality parts for the average user will never be used to the level they are built to handle. If you’re shooting 2k rounds in a 2 day course or something and really pushing your equipment, you’ll start to see parts breakages. For the average weekend shooter, buy the best you can justify and move on.

RRA LPK,DPMS LPK and the Timber wolf kit was within a few dollars of each other and I paid $65 shipped for the SS kit .

picking up an upper receiver for my cheap-to-feed 5.45 project probably tomorrow. still need to order the middy 5.45 barrel. but Magpul isn't shipping middy MOE handguards yet.

any ideas on who makes the best piston upper available? besides LWRC, as I dont have 2 grand

If you have to have a piston upper, LWRC is probably tops. Most people would be better served with a quality DI upper from Daniel Defense, BCM, Colt, Sabre, etc...

Maybe in 2075. I'm still waiting on them.

I really thought they would have shipped by now. I need them to finish my wife's build.

AIM has a LWRC 5.45 upper for $1350

i can't afford to spend that much to run the cheap ammo. i'm expecting to buold my upper for about $100 less than the S&W version.... and it won't have the M203 cut.

the M4 cut on a 14.5 barrel is fine, but it just seems completely absurd on a 16" it's like cheap car accessories made from fake carbon fiber.

which is why i'm building my own rifle.
