The Knife Life (Minor Topics and Random Stuff Thread)

Here's a couple shots I got from another member who bought this knife. Thank God I asked for a sized up version:eek:

And here's a pic from the makers website showing the leather sheath:

Well this kinda sucks......

I got an email yesterday from a member on here who had a Damascus blade and CF inlay small 21 in good condition that he was willing to sell to me for well under 500 bucks, but with this project going on I don't really think I can swing it at the moment. Damn shame.....

But I guess it wasn't all that perfect anyway. It had basket weave damascus, which is my least favorite kind:p

Damn shame indeed!

What do you do for work man? I know for sure when I was your age I carried the absolute best knife $39.95 could buy! (Which was a SOG Tomcat)

I'm working a retail job down at the mall. Not the best pay, but my aunts also giving me 200 a month to drive my cousins back and forth from school and to all of their events and such.

Between that and being single for the past few months, I've had a good bit of disposable income to send CRK's way:D

But there IS a limit

Sounds like a good gig!
I was so strapped when I was your age I didn't hardly have two pennies to rub together. IIRC, I think I saved up for 2 months to buy that SOG!
Not having a girl around will definitely keep more scratch in your pocket.

Ah man, I remember those days. I would blow a whole month's paycheck on touring the west coast with my band.

I've been reading up on your progress, man. I've gotta say that's an awesome gesture. I got my old man a Buck 55 for his birthday last year. He's not really a knife guy so it means A TON when I drop by my folks' place and see it on his bedside dresser with his wallet, truck keys and watch.

Thanks bro:)

I get what you mean, my dad still carries the mini grip I gave him two years ago. It's his only folder and he never leaves the house without it

I really should be saving for a nice car to take with me to college

BUT THE BLADES..............

Ugh I'm just hopeless:o

Now that's awesome! Definitely a good feeling

So I just snagged a ZT 0620. The G-10/Elmax version. Been wanting to try this knife out for a bit. I'll be letting you guys know once it arrives!

Very cool. Congrats!

Are you planning on grabbing any of the new ZTs that are coming up? I hear a lotta talk about the 808 and the production version of the 454

Oh man, the 2015 ZTs are all calling my name! There's no point in trying to resist their siren song...

As for the 0452CF...well yes, that one definitely caught my eye.

For me, that production 454 is the only flipper I desire(besides the original of course). In a perfect world I'd get a 454 without that funky looking composite blade. I love everything else about the original especially those partial frame locks(?).

For me the ZT phase has kinda passed. I still like them and they're definately great knives, but right now I'm just too in love with CRK to divert much cash their way.

Since I'm only carrying my sebbies now, they'd never see enough carry time to justify the cost.

That reminds me......

I think it's about time for a good herd thinning. I can think of plenty of blades that I wouldn't miss much if they were gone, and cash that I'd love to have back.

I totally hear that, man. Nothing wrong with it, either. Especially since you're carrying top tier pieces.

For me, I'm just at a point where I need to get the most bang for my buck. Excellent materials, fit/finish, as well as collabs/designs that excite me. ZTs just check so many boxes for me, I'm sticking with them for the long haul.

But that's not to say I don't appreciate my Manix or Yojimbo 2. Or the couple of Emersons I have. Or even my BladeForums Stag Jack ;)

Care to get rid of your Esee? :)

My first reaction was to laugh and say 'yeah right'. But actually now that I think about it, I might be willing to part with that particular knife:)

Ive wanted to grab a ratmandu for some time now, but never felt it would be reasonable to do so since I already have so many good fixed blades.

I don't want this to become a sales thread, but if you want the knife I can sell it to you for pretty cheap and toss in those G10 TKC scales I got a while back. Remember those?

Send me a visitors message if you're interested Dog. I don't wanna get slapped by the mods for saying any more about it in here.

Just got the Sage 2 in. This is an incredible knife for the money. Rock solid lock up, no blade play, high quality finish, ultra sharp out of the box. Opened it up a few times, now it's back in the box awaiting anodizing for you guys.

Cool.

Yeah it's pretty amazing how nicely made the Taiwanese spydies are. I loved my sage 2 except for the untreated lock face. My constant flicking wore it out pretty quick.

In custom news, Dario started making the knife yesterday. He cut out the design and he's heat treating it now, trying for around 59HRC

Sent me these pics.....
