The Knife Life (Minor Topics and Random Stuff Thread)

Now you need an SMF! (Just to compare/contrast)

What happened, Mr. Financial Responsibility?:p

Lol nah, I think Ill probably stop with the SNG. Too many other things on my to-buy list. This ones growing on me though. I threw on a fresh edge last night and its cutting pretty well.

Still, Im now forced to carry three knives because my cf stabby is impossible to leave behind. I guess I just have to wait until the SNGs honeymoon phase is over.

In other news, my cat's not doing too well right now. Little guys liver is failing and we have to give him a daily IV in the neck , but he doesn't seem to be getting better. Right now he's lying under a bush breathing fast and I'm not sure how long he's gonns last.

Ugh.

I love that cat. He's been with us since I was in first grade. Lost his tail several years back fighting something, got sick countless times over the years, had to have his arm shaved at the vets about a month ago (we were matching for a little while there:)) after getting it chewed up in yet another fight, urinary tract infection a while back almost killed him. He's been through a lot.

Got this shot of him with my sebbies a few weeks ago before I sold the plain jane.

Kris I hope your kitty pulls through. Losing a pet sucks so I hope he's alright. They go from a new little cuddly friend to a part of your family.
And hey, I still AM Mr. Financial Responsibility! School, housing, car, extras - for me that was quite a big chunk (girls, extras for my ride, brew, etc), then knives... You've got a good head on your shoulders and seem to be covered, so I was just suggesting you get the Strider's big brother.
And I noticed you said you carry 3 knives these days. That's CF stabby, the strider, and what else?

My SD blade, the fox 599 kerambit.

But I guess I lied a bit, since I left out the little SAK on my keychain and the multitool in my pocket;)

And screw SMFs, I'm going hinderer for my next purchase. A three inch XM is just what my rotation needs:thumbup:

Cat's looking a little better now. We just did the IV again and he seemed to have a little more energy for a bit, then he drank some water and went to sleep.

We're also giving him some meds to calm his stomach and encourage eating, and when he wakes up we'll try syringe-ing a little bit of baby food into his mouth. He won't eat on his own so it's the only option at this point. He needs to start eating because cats livers fail when they stop eating. This problem all started because he developed pancreatitis and stopped eating.

I feel like I'm talking too much. Anybody else have anything going on in the knife life?

Glad to hear your cat is doing better and congrats on the Hinderer. As for anything else going on in knife life... I just watched my younger brother (24 years old) drop my Mili into his foot through his shoe... Good thing my 'rents are docs. Dad is stitching him up right now. Literally haha.

Yikes! Hope it isn't too bad. Is he a knife guy too?

The Hinderer shipped out today. Should be here on Wednesday, and I'm super excited to get it. Interesting tidbit, it turns out this particular knife was made exactly a week after my last birthday:thumbup::eek:

I might have made the wrong choice going with the 3.5 over a 3 inch, but we'll see. If I don't like it, I'm sure I can get all of my money back in no time on the exchange and put it into a 3 inch or even back into another strider.

All I know is Im loosing lots of folders to the exchange lately. The SNG didnt net me nearly enough to fund the XM purchase. I had to sell my native 5 s110v as well. In just these past couple weeks alone, my collection has been reduced SIGNIFICANTLY. I got rid of (and these are the ones that weren't replaced by anything) at least 5 knives if I'm remembering correctly. Right now I'm down to just these (plus the PM2 that's still being customized, the new Hinderer, and my old tenacious that rides permanently under the seat of the truck)

Anybody else wanna post their folder collection group shots? I realize some may find it harder to do than others:p

Krissig, it's been a minute since I've posted in this thread. One of the hardest things I've done was to put my black lab Wolf down. He was the best dog I've ever owned. His hips were shot. We had the option of surgery and an axle and wheels to support his rear end. He was in pain. He just wanted to please us till the end. I can remember him wagging his tail as we brought him in to the vet. I think we made the right choice. Take care.

No fixed blades?!
Hey what Kershemerson is that?
I'd post my collection but it'd have to be an aerial shot. Just kidding - I don't have near as many knives as I used to.
