The New 2014 BladeForums KNIFE Thread!

This is really good news - thanks a lot to all involved!
Of course I'd love to have a 2014 Bladeforums knife, preferably in stag (thank you Mr. Lloyd!) and I will fully support the suggested procedure, whatever it turns out to be.
I'm in for one as long as it carries the BF.com tang stamp!

Thanks to those investing their time and money into this project. This will definitely turnout to be a great knife and hopefully a great experience for all

Charlie,

You are something else (and I mean that in a very good way :D).

Much respect and huge thanks for taking this on and John, big "thank you" to you for your generosity.

Let me know if I can give an assist.

WOOOO Hoo I'm IN for 2 no matter What!! Thanks Charlie and the Crew!! you are ALL Great!! :D

I have always supported buying the forum knives, this one would be no exception. Especially with Charlie's involvement and the amazingly generous gift from John Lloyd, this is sure to be another winner!

"Shall we have a 2014 Bladeforums knife?" I would be very disappointed if there wasn't.
"Perchance in Stag??" That would be great.

Further to the above, I will buy 2, regardless of pattern. I am also willing to fork over cash in advance.
Also, I was not at all disappointed with last year's process or knife, the end result was a great knife. I bought 2 and 1 of them has been in my pocket since they arrived in my mailbox.

Dan

I vote YES to:
-a 2014 Bladeforums knife
-preferably in stag
-in a pattern chosen from among 4-6 choices proposed by Charlie and his advisors
-for under $100.
And I'm in for one, whatever it turns out to be. Where do I send my deposit?

Hat's off to Charlie for taking this on.
I agree wholeheartedly with Berkley. I'm in and where do you want me to send my deposit.

Well, the posts have been virtually 100% positive, and for that I thank you all!
This encourages me to forge ahead.
I will post news here as it occurs, and give you the post number of the news in the Original Post (OP)!

Thanks again Charlie. Here's some feedback you ask for in the OP.

[...]

I am going to ask you all to consider that, with a few advisors here, and after duly reading the proposals so far in the other thread that has been flowing along for some weeks now, we propose 4 to 6 choices in a poll, and you tell us which you want.

We will verify that the knives can be made easily (existing or new tooling), and will get to you for UNDER $100!! Or well less than $100!! We will make sure there is a variety.

Knowtracks (Dave) will be our official pollster, and I may ask one or two of you who have offered assistance to help, but for now, let's talk about this, the method and not the knives yet please, to see if you approve.

Thanks for your patience, and feedback, in advance!

I approve and would like you to consider having a run-off if one of the candidates doesn't garner 50+% of the votes.

I like everything I have read here - the idea, the method, and the enthusiasm!

By all means; a vote between the patterns chosen by Charlie, and stag handles will be wonderful (I'd say that about bone or ebony as well).

OH

I'll be in for one as well. I've bought the last couple years forum knives and plan to continue each year :)

Im all thumbs up here! The forum knife could be a plastic butterknife and I would still get it!

That's a really bad idea. Hopefully, one pattern poll will be taken and the winner will be the pattern used. What would you do, keep repeating polls going until your favorite it selected should it not be selected in the first go-round?

Heck, I could go for that if it came with a small packet of peanut butter.
