The New 2014 BladeForums KNIFE Thread!

That's a really bad idea. Hopefully, one pattern poll will be taken and the winner will be the pattern used. What would you do, keep repeating polls going until your favorite it selected should it not be selected in the first go-round?

Heck, I could go for that if it came with a small packet of peanut butter.

That's your opinion, ED. And no need to get personal. I said nothing about trying to get my favorite selected.

Yessir... This is gonna be great! A special thanks to the big dogs for putting all this together, hopefully we can all exercise some constraint and reach a decision without causing can turbulence for those who would donate their time, skills and materials for this project. I for one am anxious for the polls.

So I guess we'll need to get a GoogleKnife tang stamp made?

Thank you in advance to everyone involved.

Here's a question - while BF is an American based forum, there are many of us overseas members.
There are also many manufacturers, in many counties, who are well known & liked to this forum.
So, does the forum knife have to be from an American manufacturer?

That's a fair question. Man, I'm glad I have nothing to do with this project.

Most likely since an American is taking on this project.:)

Kris, since when did the State of Washington become part of Canada? I am German and live in Michigan

Charlie may live in Canada but unless I'm mistaken he is indeed American.

I have nothing specific to base this thought on but I tend to think doing business with firms in other countries would require more pre-planning and logistical hoop jumping. I presume using an American manufacturer will be the path of least resistance and projects like this need as little resistance as they can get.

I say let the artist work his magic. Give the artist the latitude to make changes so that it ends up a true work of art. Seems to have worked for Charlie in the past;). Let his creativity run! I trust his judgment. I'm in.
