I don't worry about what's on the blade. It aint killed me yet.

I figger EVERY thing on this Earth will or can kill ya...I just don't fixate on it. Read the list of normal everyday items that the state of Cali has on their list of things that ''will'' give ya cancer (allegedly). Pretty much 98% of everything we use everyday.

I'm pretty sure swiping the blade on your jeans ''sanitizes'' it.....

Im the same way...I just dont want anybody dyeing because of my advice..

Thinking about incorporating a chest rig into my sticks kit.

You'll be in good company :D

My Beckers haven't gotten me any ladies yet.

I'm calling you guys out on false advertisement.

You're not doing it right.

Anyone watch Ice Road Truckers? I saw this one night last week.

Went to touch up a knife this morning on my Worksharp and one of the bearings started to squeal. I tried to get a bit of oil into it, but it didn't help, so I emailed Worksharp about it. They asked a couple questions in their first reply and in the second one said they would be sending me a new head/sharpening cassette for it asap. Gotta love it when a company stands behind their product like that. Heck, I'm not even sure that I did the warranty registration.

They did that for mee too ac700, and when that didnt fix it they sent me a whole new rig, and a lable to send the old one back for free.

Thats cool. Hopefully it isn't a recurring problem. How is your new one holding up? I'm pretty sure its the lower bearing on the cassette. You could almost burn yourself by touching the shaft it rides on.

Mine was actually the shaft coming loose from the plastic drive wheel, and they sent me a new one which I have had ZERO problems with. PSeaking of I need new belts ..lol

Reverse drill bit or theres something called an easy out. On a Sebenza, I think I would send it into CRK and let them take care of it.

Yeah Ill probably do that. They want to charge me for a screw for a knife thats still under warranty from them. I'm calling bullshit on this one. They better expect an email from a fairly angry customer in a minute.

Talked to a guy from Birchwood Casey about whether it's safe to use gun blued blades for food prep. They're in contact with a chemist, and will let me know what they find. They told me unofficially what they thought, but I won't post until they're sure.

that's a nice looking Kelty Trade...would like to see some pics of it on, once you get it loaded up. I like the look of it tho

I'm betting i agree with their unofficial guess, but then I used B-wood Casey's Plum Brown on a camp knife that I carried& used at rendezvous' , SCA, & CASS events for years.

It looks nice with that chocolate brown 'chete sheath on it, I already know that. :D

It's not an ultralight pack. Very heavy duty made of 500 and 1000D cordura and weighs a little over 4 pounds. I'll post up a pic when I get it loaded.

Here's the response I got from Birchwood Casey. Didn't really answer the question:

"We don’t recommend that you use any item blackened with our products for food preparation.

It’s possible that it would be ok, but we don’t know enough about it to be 100% sure.

We don’t have any experience using our products on items for food preparation; is out of our prescribed use."

Hell, I knew that before I asked.

It's certainly a nice price. I can't find a OD one though, just a khaki one. Well, on the watery site I shop at anyways.

I have been looking at the 5.11 Rush 24s a bit too, I like them. I dunno, so many packs out there...I wish I could find a brick and mortar that had some of these in stock so I could try them on, Im hard to fit.
