I'm always carrying, hence the reason for the left hand sheath. I have cut out sheaths wrong, but this one I actually did on purpose.

Speaking of hammocks, I just got my first one recently. Just an inexpensive one (Grand Trunk UL) but I'm liking it so far. Going on an overnighter in a couple weeks to try it out for real.
Question though, I've seen some people use a sleeping pad inside of the hammock - is this just for insulation or is a comfort thing too? It seems pretty comfortable to me already, but I've not slept a whole night in one. Do you guys normally use a sleeping pad in the summer?
Only way to fly. I'd rather sleep in mine than in bed at home. Did you get the side zip or bottom entry?
I love the smell of Hoppes No 9. Makes me think of being a kid and my Dad teaching me how to clean a shotgun.
It's strictly for insulation. Summertime you don't need a pad. One note though, mosquitoes can bite through most hammocks (I know they can Hennesseys) so be sure to have something under you.

I recently bought a knife from Todd TMHunt. I't 01 steel and a handle made from elk horn. The fit and quality are just amazing. I wish I had the skills to make something half this nice. I can highly recommend his work. Communication was outstanding, he shipped quickly and the packaging looked like it was ready for an air drop out of the back of a C130. Check him out if your looking for a nice hand made knife. He offered the knife with a sheath, but we agreed on a price without a sheath. I like to make my own and these photos show the beauty of the knife and my effort to make a sheath for it.
