The "Whatever" Thread

I have one of those lcr 357's. things kick like a freaking mule. I only shoot 38 in mine anymore and even that is enough for me lol.

That's why I got rid of my Airweight S&W J Frame, nice to carry, not so nice to shoot. (or maybe I'm just a sissy?)

I find my S&W 642 to be enjoyable with standard 38spl. +P takes concentration, but I can go through a box or so without ill effects. I spent some range time with a scandium J-frame and +P. A cylinder full was unpleasant and after several cylinders my hand was sore the next day. I don't tend to be too recoil sensitive (at least with handguns), but that little bugger recoiled so fast it was pushing my physical limits of having fun.

kind of a sucky day, writing finals for next week and looking over finances.

The semesters coming to a close, so my job shrinks a little, going to have to shut down the HK knives thing for a few months :(

better get abck to it, just wanted to moan a little

Had a quick trip to the range this morning. I wanted to run 100 hollow points through the Sig to be sure it functioned with them. Also put another 50 hardball through it. The more I shoot it the happier I am that I chose it! Also took the Glock and the little Beretta .25. I had trouble with the Beretta's sights, need to put a little paint on the front one.

If you're a fan of the J-frame S&W but not recoil you should check out the 351C. I love mine to the point it has become
my most carried handgun. I've probably posted this pic before but it's the most recent one I have.

Is the 351c steel or aluminum frame? I'm not familiar with that model number. Is it a .22 magnum?

Sounds very interesting, I'm a fan of the .22 magnum, very accurate in my old Single Six.

I took the LCR out yesterday and shot a variety of loads.
The 357s do punish the hand a bit, (the web between the index finger and thumb) but I popped off about 20 rounds with no lasting damage.
+Ps were stout with a bit of kick but manageable and pain free.
Plain 38s were no problem.
I'l keep it stoked with +Ps around town and the 180 grn. 357s in the woods.

I did pop off 5 rounds of the 180 grn 357s as fast as I could and my trigger finger got jammed into the trigger guard during the recoil I guess and it took a bit of skin off right behind the nail.
I think it was the mold seam that scraped the skin off so I'll sand it down smooth, but popping off five rounds super fast isn't something I do on a regular basis so no biggie IMO.
I do love this little bugger and can recommend it for someone wanting something light weight with stopping power for hiking or biking.
I have no illusions that it'll stop a bear, but it'll kill a cougar no doubt and it is better than a just a knife if either should decide it doesn't like my looks or the way I smell while out in the woods.:D

Twisted my left knee this morning, now I can't even put any weight on it. Hopefully it will feel better in the morning.

This guy...gal? decided to tear down my bird feeder n bluebird house yesterday😠

That is so cool, a bear in your yard! My knee was feeling good this morning, so I went to the post office to mail a couple of packages. Got out of the car and dropped to the ground and could not get back up. I crawled to the curb, sat down, then called my neighbor to help me. He got me in his car and his wife drove mine home. I'm on the couch now. The packages got mailed thanks to his wife.

bear, very cool :)

sorry to hear that john, i've come down witha lot of leg/joint problems laterly to, one heals up, another one comes along, but they ahve only restricted me to limping fortunatley. Hope it gets better soon.

I hate to say it John but you really should go to a doctor. I injured my knee several years ago and was hard headed about seeking medical attention. I recovered but still feel it from time to time when I step the wrong way. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

hope it's something simple that heals quickly with no more than a brace needed for a few weeks -- but I'm with the others, get thee to a sawbones!

A few craft brews from Houston my dad brought back.
He said he would try one, dislike it, then pour the rest out.
He brought me back three "5 packs" of beer. :p

The Hopadillo IPA I thought was the best.
