The "Whatever" Thread

That is so cool, a bear in your yard! My knee was feeling good this morning, so I went to the post office to mail a couple of packages. Got out of the car and dropped to the ground and could not get back up. I crawled to the curb, sat down, then called my neighbor to help me. He got me in his car and his wife drove mine home. I'm on the couch now. The packages got mailed thanks to his wife.

How is the knee John?

Sorry to hear about your knee, John. That's a sucky injury for someone like yourself who is on his feet so much.

Maybe you can splint a piece of 01 to your leg for support....

Tomorrow is a huge day for me and my family, my son graduates from Virginia Tech and I could not be any more proud of him. It seems not that long ago when I dropped him off at the school dorm for his freshman year. It was difficult for me to accept him being there. Now it is even more difficult to know he will not be.

I can remember when you posted about him starting and now he is already done. The older we get the faster time goes by.

Feels a bit better, I can walk again, but I'm taking it slow.
Got a brace or at least a wrap for it?

Glenn's got the right idea.

Congrats Pops.

To quote Steve Miller..Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin', into the future.

so, funny story, we stayed somewhere last night - at shaker town, a very interesting historic site Rebecca actually wrote her thesis fabout the people who lived there and is writing a fiction novel based on it to - (how did we do it, long story in itself, groupon is awesome though) and I went out for a morning run as is my want, ended up living out my very own episode of "Survivorman" or Dual survival" whichever you prefer, but i was alone, o lone survival i guess.

didn't come t eating my shoes or making camp for the night of course, but I thought it was pretty funny. as a JK fan I had everything I needed, including a very fine JK knife...in my bag...in the room, on the trail I had that thin little German sak I post on occasion, my mp3 player and my clothes...doh!

Anyway, I'll try and write it up with pictures and more jokes at my own expense at some point. right now I have to clean up my grades for the end of last semester and start preparing for the 1 summer class i have starting tomorrow.

hope your all doing well and not lost at all ;)

This sounds interesting, looking forward to details. Had a surprise visit from a friend and his wife today. We go all the way back to 6th grade, which is a long time. He was best man at my first wedding and I was for him. All through high school we would build up our cars in his barn for drag racing, and he is the one who got me interesting in guns and hunting. We have not seen each other since my Dad's funeral 12 years ago. He now lives about 90 miles away, but his mother, at 90 years old, just moved back to my area, so hopefully we will get together more often when they come here to visit her .

Glad you're getting better John, knees tend to heal slowly, take it easy...!:)

Was planning on posting some pictures of the morel mushrroms we found today quite a nice bunch ... but ... have you ever had someone do a bonehead thing? purely accidental n can laugh at it now but my brother's in the dog house for awhile ...

we took the boat went across the lake to a nice secluded area was full of mushrooms. And all excited as we were getting back in the boat ... my brother knocked my pack overboard and camera and cell phone and a Mora knife along with a few other things sank like a rock. Ok you may insert one or two swear words here as I may have also ... so was a great day with my brother and a great bunch of morels ... but no pictures to share.

I was sooo happy I hadn't received my Personal Camp Knive from John yet or I may have had it along ... so all in all a cheap Mora and insured phone and camera can be replaced.

And it's definately one for the memory books.
