The "Whatever" Thread

Some good points there. Maybe I should do away with the different categories and put every model I am still willing to make on one page to make it simpler for a shopper to compare models?

I agree with this. I still want to buy more of your knives, but am still undecided on which ones.
Right now, I have to look back and forth between the forum and your website.

Its not really that big of a deal for me to do, but someone who isn't already sold on your knives, or someone who isn't that computer literate may get confused about it.

Finally got to meet Andy -- good guy, and his wife is very pleasant, too.

It was great to meet you finally, Erik! You work hard even when you are playing!!

Have a safe trip back to Topeka.

I have to get you down to Atlanta, Cooper.

Had a great time, ZT won American Made Knife of the Year for the ZT0999, and also Kitchen Knife of the Year.

Lot's of makers are stepping up their game, the Fiddleback display was much larger this year:

Busse was moved to the back wall and they had what seemed like a much larger area for the trough.

There were some really cool new designs.

I saw a lot of old friends.

We were commiserating around a table last night with the ZT Crew, and Chris Reeve came up to congratulate them on their win. I offered him a drink and he happily accepted, stood there and talked for a little while. I listened to Chris and Craig Green (Director of Manufacturing and Engineering at Kai USA) discuss market issues. Very interesting!

Here is a link to my pictures - as you know I take a ton of pictures - they are somewhat sketchy as I am learning a new camera - but you can see the great time.

I did not buy one knife, surprisingly....I renewed my Knife Rights membership, bought a couple of DMT dia-folds and was otherwise a good boy.

I am saving the money for the new ZT0606, ZT0999 and ZT095. Good stuff!

Bill Thanks!

mqqn, Great Pics! I REALLY wish BladeShow would come further south.

Thanks!

You should just drive up! Atlanta is a 10+ hour drive for me, but well worth the drive.

Just found out the wife and kids are going to her aunts this Wed. through Sun.
This means FIVE DAYS of me being alone, without kids, in silence!
Ill get to do whatever I want, whenever I want to do it. For FIVE FREAKING DAYS!

Ill get to eat cereal for supper, and burgers for breakfast!
Ill get to finally play my xbox!
Ill get to sharpen my knives!
Ill get to shoot my guns!
Ill get to drink lots of beers!

Hell, I may even go to the bar with my friends this weekend. (Shhh, don't talk to loud)
Natchez, MS is right across the river from me.
Under The Hill Saloon is a great little bar.
Its where Jim Bowie had his famous knife fight too! :D

I just found out that someone shot a high powered rifle through my mother's barn, through her RV, through her house wall and into the living room (went through a total of 4 walls, and an RV side and window. The cops think that someone must have just fired up into the air......My mother is in a custody battle because my step brother's mother is crazy and abusive to him. She says it's nothing to do with that but I don't know for sure. I'm actually quite upset and will beat the person if we find out who did this.

Bullets fall DOWN if their fired into the air. Not horizontal

That is what I told my mom as well. I've seen the impact of a .50 cal after being shot into the sky. Came down and went through the roof (A thin plastic roof, think a white board), and get lodged in the floor not penetrating through. There is no way it was a vertical shot

Andy, I will definitely get there sooner or later. Thanks for the pics.

Cadillac, I'm glad nobody was hurt. That's scary stuff.

got home a bit after 4 this afternoon.
yesterday was an 8 hour drive to Indiana after the show ended, today was the 10 hour drive home from there.
We had fun - I got a year's worth of talking done in 3 days, picked up some knife blanks, and the show treated Todd fairly well.

wish that had occurred to me Tuesday when I drove through Indy on the way to Seymour.
it was after midnight when we got to Seymour Sunday night/Monday morning -- I wasn't going anywhere after that -- and in an attempt to avoid road construction, I took US 50 west to I-69 S to get to I-64 rather than taking 65 up to 70.

Fantastic pics Andy, and thanks for the link..!:D

A crazy story, it was time for our dog's annual checkup and he was due for a new rabies shot. So we take him in and he starts hyperventilating, the Vet had to put him on oxygen, he was freaking out. Get him back in car he is still stressed once home he is back to his normal happy self. Never seen anything like that before, he's a house dog and we don't really take him away from home often so I guess once out of his comfort zone he really stresses out.

Ive heard pugs have trouble breathing anyway. Him being stressed prob just added to the complication.
Glad to hear hes doing better
