The "Whatever" Thread

i have a similar thing about garage door tension springs (after one nearly broke both my thubs last time i fixed ours)

those do freak me out a touch.

btw...i never did say...about the snakes?...crazy. we certainly don't have to deal with that up in VT. supposedly, there are timber rattlers up here, but i think they are in short supply. i certainly have never seen one.

Only working three days this week. Connie's hours were cut for the next couple of weeks, so we will be doing some stuff while she is off. I'm ahead of schedule anyway, don't want to run out of work!

Renaissance Gear shopping. Need a new sword. I will happily spend the money on a good knife, can't get myself to drop over $200 for a sword haha. I feel spoiled having the knives I have.

I had an interesting thing happen to me this past weekend.

I have always been a fan of Buck knives - John and I share this interest, and we have exchanged Buck 110s and 112s, John being a 110 fan and me being a 112 fan.

I am also a Lifetime Member of the Buck Collectors Club, and I have met David Yellowhorse one time at Blade in Atlanta. I love his work, but I don't have any, I would like someday to have a David Yellowhorse Buck 112, and I will likely have one at some point.

I teach Concealed Carry in Illinois, and I always show some knives to my students and suggest that having a knife and light source are just good preparation items to have with you.

This past weekend, one of my students informed me that she was David Yellowhorse's step-daughter - David is married to her mother!

I was very excited to hear that!!

Since I am going to Blade this weekend, Melinda (my student) suggested that I introduce myself to Mr. Yellowhorse as she had called him to tell him that I was coming to Blade.

I am extra excited to get to the Buck Collectors area of the Blade show this year!!!

I'll take pictures to post here for my JK friends - if there is something in particular that any of you would like to see just say the word and I will do what I can!

Thanks for sharing, that's a cool 'small world' story! Have a blast, and maybe this is your time to bring home your Yellowstone!

That's pretty cool! The most interesting person in my class decided to take his shoes and socks off and then take off his shirt to put deodorant on. The instructor refunded his money and sent him packing.

Lol. I bet he felt like a royal jackass!

Sadly, he probably didn't.

Andy, that is a cool story, and something to look forward to at Blade. Wish I was going, but a little far away for me to justify with the wife.

Have fun!

Oh also, hopefully picking up a car for the Mrs tonight. New 2014 AWD, V6, Heated leather seats, remote start, all the power options Dodge Charger for 10k less than the msrp due to the fact they want to clear 2014s

I got a 2013 Ram 1500 about a year ago and love it!
Its only a 4.7l V-8, not the Hemi, but I can set my cruise at 65mph and get 23mpg.
And can still pull my Jeep anywhere I want to ride.

I'd love a Ram 1500. For the longest time I had a very custom 2005 Dodge Dakota, 4WD, lifted, Bull Bars, Running Boards, Custom Paint, Custom Tonneau cover. But that was when I was in the military with no bills so I had to sell it when I went back to school. Now I drive a 2011 Scion xB which I've had a few years, but my next vehicle will be back in a truck.

My cousin used to have a single cab Dakota with the 4.7l and that thing would FLY!
He had a lot of motor work done to, but having that much motor in a little single cab pickup was scary.
On a rainy day you had to really pay attention because it would fishtale and hydroplane super easy.

Needless to say, he totaled it
