The "Whatever" Thread

Watching the KY Derby at home with the wife and kids (almost 5 & 2.5). My wife asked them what horses they were picking during the call to the gates. My son picked 13 and daughter picked 11, based on "looks" and silk colors. I'll be damned if they didn't finish 1 & 2. Based on the odds they were the favorites, but the kids certainly didn't know that. I may have to start taking them to the track.

Hanna's team lost last night. It was the first time I got to see them play. She is not real good at it, but what she lacks in skill she makes up for in effort and spirit. We could not be more proud of her, it was so good to see her out there having fun.

Got out for a couple hours yesterday. Wish these were always in a group like this. There were a
few others I couldn't get in the cel-phone pic.

I was planning on a little morel hunting today - then the thunder & lightning started, so I logged on here instead.

John, as long as she is having fun, that is what matters.

Good find, fishiker.

I think the morels are about done around here. There may be some fresh ones out there somewhere, but I am mushroomed out for the year.:D

I went camping yesterday and got out there and realized the batteries for my camera were dead as were the backups so no pics.
Any how, I put a Leupold 1-4 x 20 on my 336 and got it sighted in, found some morels, was too lazy to put the tent up for a night so slept under the stars and was treated to a Northern Lights show.
All in all a great trip.

John, as long as she puts fourth the effort and has the pain, the skill will come with time (and that will only lead to more of a love for the sport).

Myke, glad to hear that the tent-less night worked out in your favor, Fortuna favet fortibus!

Got an email from a guy who told me, (not asked), to send him a knife so he can "advertise" it for me on different social media sites. When he was done he would donate it to a homeless person. What does a homeless person need a handmade knife for? Needless to say, I did not bother to reply to him.

Well, that doesn't sound shady at all.

If you send my a knife, I'll review it, send a couple emails to people I don't know about it, then leave it in my kids' school.:D

I think that a homeless person needs an EDC as much, if not more, than the most of us do. However, homeless doesn't necessarily mean penniless, so I think they should order their own knives from you. I would however, if I were you, require payment in full at time of order. And yes, I am being somewhat serious, and somewhat not.

Ha. Now im dreaming up what a JK Hobo knife would look like.
Im seeing something like a longer Kephart with wood handles from old railroad ties.

Don't forget the built in can opener!

Yes, still waiting..................................................;) :D

Well THAT will definitely get you some publicity, not sure it's the kind you want but hey, any publicity is good right?[emoji12]
