The "Whatever" Thread

Just got home from Hanna's ball game, now it's time to go to sleep for a few hours before I go back to work.

Thanks for posting your knives. I`m starting to worry when the FFL thread gets more activity than knife threads!

Great to see your still kickin.
Take your time and go at Your rate. The Doctors will think they know if you are pushing too hard, but you Will know.
It's the physical therapists that push too hard and I have to reign 'em in sometimes.

Take it slow and steady, you will be back in the woods soon.
Yes sireeee.

That's great news my friend. I can't imagine everything you have been through and pray you recover fully never having to deal with those things again.
And here's hoping your sinuses got straightened out.

Good to hear from you. Keep at it, you'll be back in the saddle soon!
But, but I don't have a horse!

Glad to hear your on the mend again. Good thoughts still heading your way sir
Thank you gs.

Love them straight backs.

Sooo, I walked to the bathroom from my recliner the other night without the walker!
Pretty cool, a little scary, but cool!
I did use the walls for some support on the way as my balance isn't perfect yet and I walk a little stiff legged.
I also was finally able to button my jeans for a shopping trip to wallyworld yesterday.
I've been limited to wearing elastic waisted pants so being able to wear my jeans is a big morale boost.
(when I was in the hospital i couldn't even pull up my pants my hands were so weak :o)

One benefit to being so weak is I get to ride around in the electric carts when shopping.
I always wanted too as a kid and now I get too....Yippie!:D ;)

Glad to know you are making progress and positive enough to celebrate the little things:thumbup:

My father had surgery several years and afterwards he discovered elastic pants. I didn't realize how many horrible color/pattern combinations were available in men's clothes until then. Luckily most are not made of very durable fabric or he would have never went back to the Dickies that he normally wears.

I will admit to wearing sweatpants to "lounge around in" around the house. The only time I wore them in public was to go to Walmart. I blended right in!

I'm getting way too old to be working 70-75 hours a week!
There's an age limit? Why didn't anyone tell me this.[emoji2]
Believe me I'm quite a bit younger but I get where your coming from. I get a bonus check this month and there is any of about 25 different bills it could go to but I'm heavily debating using some of it to take the wife to California for a weekend again as a suprise.

I thought posting would start picking up now that summer is over. Even most of the regulars don't seem to be around. What's everyone been up to?

work.
getting wife settled in and moved for her new job 250 miles away. (this is also why I have no $$ for new sharps)
helping build a taproom - which had it's grand opening last night
still need to make things for them like new taps, a magazine rack, and a business card display for other area businesses.

Well...besides not blending in at Wallyworld, I've been going to PT twice a week, getting an IVIg every three weeks, and walking around my apt. more and more.
The IVIgs are really helping so far, along with the physical therapy of course.
IVIg doesn't work for some, so I've been lucky to have found the one treatment out of the three main established treatments that work at stoping further nerve damage and staving off another relapse.:)

The doctor released me to return to work next week. I feel pretty good and several friends kept posting pics of all the fish they were catching so we took off for a few days of fishing in OBX. I think Oct is my favorite time of year to be here. The weather has been nice, the crowds are long gone, and the fish were biting. We caught trout and puppy drum every day we fished. We had a couple of meals that I thought were wonderful and had several quality hours lounging/walking on the beach. Heading home tomorrow so the wife and I are sharing a growler of a tasty chocolate peanut butter porter this evening.
