The "Whatever" Thread

I may have upset a couple of my in-laws yesterday. I asked why anyone too lazy to keep a normal job would need to go on vacation ....... I've never been one who only tells people what they want to hear.

Heal up quick, Scott!

Hiker - sometimes it's best to just say nothing, especially with "outlaws".

My oldest granddaughter graduates from grade school this evening. Makes me feel old.
Prior to the graduation ceremony, I am attending a visitation for a friends mother, who passed peacefully at the ripe old age of 97.
Makes me feel young again. ;^)

Hayley has her confirmation this Sunday and graduates on June 6th. She just got braces on Monday, so she is a little self conscious.

Today is my son's 6th birthday. We started with pancakes (I made them shaped like "6"s), he has a school field trip to the zoo today and he picked Chuck E Cheese for dinner. Banner day for my little man.

Congrats to both of your 'little people' ! Kids growing up is crazy to watch. Our youngest son is 2 years old and i swear that everyday i can see him growing in some way.

Wow, everyone sounds busy! John, that's great news about Becky! Tell Hayley that the newness of braces will wear off after a bit. The kids will get used to her wearing them after awhile. They should also be letting her pick out "bling" colors for her braces as well. It's not really the same as when we were kids, where you got picked on for wearing glasses or having braces. Now those things are more of fashion accessory, and are more "accepted" as a part of everyday life. I was a little worried for our son when he got his, but the kids don't seem to mind nowadays.

Been cooped up the last few days, had rotator cuff surgery on Thursday. Last few days have been a little rough. Doing much better today though. Right arm in a sling for two weeks but at least it doesn't hurt anymore.

That's rough, glad it's doing a little better at least,

Playing around in the backyard. Just picked up this Canadian TripleX Badlands. Thick spine, so I wasn't sure how it would strop up. I was quite surprised at how sharp it ended up. Used my Element earlier in the yard so it's on the bench to get sharpened. The Humphrey is taking its place for the evening.

This guy was sunning himself right in the middle of the pavement.
He's lucky he didn't get snatched up by a bird.(just a baby under a foot long)

Crows were harassing a hawk up in one of these trees.
I've seen crows harassing raptors before, but not this many at one time making so much noise.
There must have been 30 or so all together in the surrounding trees.
They carried on for half an hour or so before the hawk finally made a break for the woods in the swampy area off to the right of this pic.

The only shrooms to be found.
No idea if they are edible so no touchy GI.

I finally found my perfect EDC, the Sage 1.

Went to Hayley's confirmation today, and Becky had a party planned afterwards. Hayley did not know about the party, I'm glad about that, nobody showed up except Angie, Emily, Jon, and Connie and me. I felt so sorry for her.

Raining here today, so not too bummed to be at work. Our boy graduated from college on Saturday, and of course Mothers Day on Sunday, so no shop time over the weekend.
Congrats Glenn.

I think I just saw a cleaver Junior sighting on that trail, nice! ;) Thanks for the pictures Myke, good to see you out and about
Yes sir, it's good to be out and about.

Heres hoping for a full and quick recovery with no future pain.

Reasonable question if you ask me.

Grats to the grad.
We didn't have graduation ceremonies until high school in the little town I grew up in.

Grats to Hayley!

Belated happy bday to the little man.

More good news, Becky got engaged to Jonny yesterday!
Grats to Becky and Jonny.

Poor thing, at least somebody was there though.

We camped Friday and Saturday night. I didn't get many good pics but we had a great time. My wife and my son had a first, I fixed Jiffy Pop Popcorn. I'm not sure which one was the most impressed.

The lease is about up for my apartment and now the f ing owners want to charge pet rent! $35 per pet, per month on top of the non refundable 400 deposit we paid when we moved in 10 years ago.
I can get out of the pet rent if I get a note from my doc saying my cat is a companion pet due to my "condition".
The doc's office says 2-3 days to get the frigging note written up.

Greedy people suck the big one!

That's just pure rip off. Sorry myke... why don't people just raise the rent instead of calling it pet rent anyway, dumb.
