The "Whatever" Thread

Speaking of 501s,here's mine, gotten in a trade with Pete.
I wasn't trading for the 501 though,Pete just threw it in the box with Rebecca's new book.
He read where I had carried one back in the 70s & 80s and being the great guy he is he included it along with the book.
And it was made in the late 70s-80s too, just like I had way back when.

Thanks again Pete.

I`ve been carrying my 501 lately, it`s a handy size. Great book, when I finished up my copy I passed it on to Becky. I think I read somewhere that the next one comes out in August?

That sounds right, she's had to slow working on it for a while but it should still be out on time.

Another week of freedom that you can fully enjoy knowing that you will be bringing in a pay check soon! Good for you.

Congrats and 3 cheers :encouragement:

Glad to read about this, Mykel. Good luck!

i have something a little different planned for the Panfish i just received from John. making handle slabs today, and i poured 12 oz of resin and added hardener. i was only a few minutes in when probably 6 of the 12 oz set up. wow. i did another small 6 oz batch and added it to the handle that was waiting.

interested to see how this one turns out. it's my first try with this material (ya know, the secret material), and this was not a great shot at a first test.

also, on a completely different note, i think i am going to get my youngest his first firearm ... a mossberg 500 (20 ga) so that we can bust some clays together. i think that sounds great, and he is interest to try it out. looking forward to some quality time with the boy.

have a happy 4th y'all. and stay safe. we got thunderstorms around here.

Hey Todd

Take a look at the 870 Youth Model too. I bought a 20 ga for my son's 12th birthday. It has a shortened stock and spacers that allow it to grow all the way out to full size. It's a nice setup depending on how old your boy is.
