The "Whatever" Thread

sometimes I find myself in an endless Dilbert cartoon loop.

ha, made me laugh :)

I'm happy your working, Myke, just take all that pent up crap forma bad job and put it to use in the woods
when cutting wood ;) besides, it's like dating, once you have one another one always seems to show up interested, you never know:thumbup:

thanks for asking, she's doing okay,. gets rougher during the night after she's been up a while, harder recovery then we might have hope but she's getting out and about during the day.

Hey Pete. Seeing your name reminded me....How's Rebecca doing?

thanks for asking, she's doing okay,. gets rougher during the night after she's been up a while, harder recovery then we might have hope but she's getting out and about during the day.

glad to hear she's making some progress. wishing her a speedy and full recovery.

Hiho,hiho.....

All I gotta say so far is working for a large company sucks!
And telling your dept. manager in the large company your thoughts on the job they assigned you will get you "let go"!:D
(it wasn't the job I applied for, but they thought I'd fit in, I sure showed them.;))

Yeah, last friday,(the end of my first week) the dept. manager asked me how I was doing as I was struggling to get a wrench on a 24mm nut (that was half hidden by a wire bundle) with one hand while holding this big ass impact gun on the bolt head with my other hand & I told him what I thought about the job they assigned me & the company in general.
(They had me tightening bolts on the frames as they moved up the assembly line, bolts that are half the time hidden behind wire & airline bundles all zip tied together & in the way.)
So my job title was BOLT TIGHTENER.. woohoo, what a f*%ked up brain dead job!
Anyways, the guy comes up to me yesterday afternoon about an hour before quitting time & says the head of HR wants to have a talk with me.
ruh-roh.
She says they didn't think I was a good fit for the job/company & were letting me go.:D I didn't argue as I couldn't agree more.
So I turned in my ID badge & asked her what to do with the uniforms on order that I haven't gotten yet that will be delivered to my apartment & she says keep them or donate them to goodwill.
Okayyy...donate 'em it is.

All my working life I've been able to 'vent' at the boss with no repercussions, even in the Marines, but nooooo, not at Kenworth.
They want good little drones all dressed alike merrily working that assembly line & making the best darn trucks in the world.:p

The funny thing is I was talking to the production manager yesterday after the wednesday morning department meeting & he said they'd be switching me to other departments so I could learn the different jobs & be more valuable to the company.

Oh well, screw 'em, there's other jobs out there.

So Myke says - " She says they didn't think I was a good fit for the job/company & were letting me go. I didn't argue as I couldn't agree more."

I'm proud of you Man! Sounds like you did yourself a big favor. Now what? Something good for sure -says I.

All the best.

Glad you got outta that hell hole, Myke, better jobs await :)

mind numbing big company jobs, don't get better with time, they just don't, you're mind just gets more numb..until you drool I think. Good call

Doesn't sound like a good fit at all. I've always thought every job has its own unique stew of BS. The only thing that makes a job a good fit for you is one that meshes with your own personal appetite for the unique BS that situation offers.

On to bigger an better BS!

sorry to hear that Myke. good luck with the new search.

we just got back from Plattsburgh, NY. i had some gift cards for Gander Mountain. went to get my boy a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 in 20 ga (think i may have mentioned before). ended up coming home with a Benelli Nova in 12 ga. i'll start him on the 2 3/4" shells to get him used to it. i think it will be a good gun for him. and, if not, it will be my new duck gun. ;)

he is pretty excited and that's good enough for me. we hope to get out for some clays this weekend.

Here's hoping you find yourself a better fit soon, Myke!

I work for a small company, but I can attest to the truth in that statement.

Well said, Pete.:D

The first shotgun I ever shot was a Benelli (may have been a Super Nova?). We were just shooting clays but it was a sweet shooting firearm. I hope your son likes it.

It's ugly as sin, but it's supposed to be a good gun for the price. looking forward to checking it out. thanks Coop!

Thanks Ray,as for now I talked to my old production manager at the place that laid me off & they can afford to put me on part time again for 20 hr weeks.I just need to get caught up on my union dues which I'll do with the Kenworth check I'll get today.I'll make pert near as much part time as I made starting out at Kenworth. In the mean time the search for the perfect 'fit' continues.

Good luck with your continued job search Myke!

Jeff

You know as the frames were coming down the line & we were tightening the bolts there was always water dripping off & I wondered where it came from, now I know....it was drool from the drones!:barf:
