Hey Pete, I didn't spend a lot of time sanding the handle of that little knife you won, I just gave it a coat of RenWax to darken it up.Couldn't sleep and got board last night around 2am and started sanding on my element 01, a mixture of getting a macarta handled knife from Myke in the giveaway and getting gifted some micarta in the santa exchange made me want to see how it worked anyway, bad par now it it doesn't fit the custom kydex sheath, so I've got it in a leather one now instead
pretty fun stuff to work with, horrible smell though, and it lets you know when you miss a bit a little easier then wood because of the discoloration, I've still got to finish out a spot or to as you can see![]()
High 50s and clear skies over here today.
Work sucks......NOT!
Work's great,weather's great, life is good.(for now)
In sorta knife related news.....we have these seat supports that we make and for some unbeknownst reason to newbie me, they get really thin strips of micarta super glued on em.Really thin like under a sixteenth of an inch. They must be spacers for what ever is mounted on top of 'em.
I asked around and found out the supplier is local so I'll be checking them out as a Micarta sourse.
My luck they probably only sell in large quantities though.
And I saw a woman's adult play toy in the road on the way home yesterday, and today it was still there.Imagine that.
I got a good laugh out of it wondering who lost it and under what circumstances..........
Yeah, but they're probably wholesale only.that's funny.
and finding a good micarta source would be a coup.
I think they will get it worked out - I think Spark has been having a pretty rough couple of weeks....
BF is still the biggest and most active knife site on the web, I would give it some time to get the issue worked out.
I get it occasionally - it has to do with a search engine and firewall software on the server side as far as I can tell.
best
