Thoughts about nutnfancy and cutlerly lover

I think both of them are good for the knife community and even if some of the more seasoned knife-knuts out there sometimes know more -- both of them know considerably more about knives, guns, whatever they are reviewing than the majority of their audience -- and they do a great service by promoting the products that deserve attention.

Read: After watching their videos people who don't know any better will buy a Spyderco Tenacious rather than a POS flea market knife -- and the world will be a better place for it.

I do like both. Nutnfancy gives a lot good details about blades, liners and such. I just dislike his extensive obsession of tactical features of knives. Speed deployment or blade shape as tactical /defensive aspects but that is just small grife.

Both do excellent comparasions and give the crucial information about knives. So I can forgive Nutnfancy about his tactical / knife as self defense weapon obsession easily.

Both do excellent video's and are good thing to watch. I usually look their video's before buying a knife.

hi there!!

mmm well im a bit new collecting knives but i can say i owe both of them a lot, becouse for someone like me it was very helpful all the info they show, i like more the nutfancy way lol im not into military stuff nor LEO thingys but i find it a bit funny or entertaining, the way he gets to deep into his tactical thoughs lol but thats for me anyways, i say thanks both of them cuzz is another pov

Anyway normaly before i buy a knife i look for a video from them cuzz they show some of the best knives out there... plus they are talking about knives!!!

IMO the louder and more often someone shouts something the less likely it is to be true.

In the beginning I might have believed that, but I am at this point very suspicious of any claims that he makes suggesting he is "independent".

also, I would like to point out that while I like CL, he, like nutn, use the word sheeple a lot and every time I here a person use that word the only thing I can think of is how much of a tosser they are.

I agree, especially with your last point.

My favorite 2 reviewers on YouTube are CRNFAllyKat and Severator. I like that Ally reviews a variety of entry-level knives. I like that Severator seems to be mostly lefty, so that I can see how a given knife handles lefty. He seems more articulate than most of the droolers, basement dwellers, and airsofters that do knife reviews.

Honorable mention: that bro-brah snowboarder guy IamBoognish/Archman. Offbeat perspective, reminds me of my Tahoe years and always has great music.

I don't know about the girl, but Serverator is a favourite of mine, as is Archman and his music.

I had some Nut-N-Honey this morning with breakfast. Vitamin D whole milk is the best for it.

What's sheeple?

Sheeple is a term sometimes used by knife enthusiasts to denote non-knife people who are intimidated by, ignorant of, and blind to the many charms of knives.

Sheeple is a demeaning term, which is a good reason not to use it.

Its better to have a review, video product description, opening, whatever rather than nothing. Youtube is a benefit to the knife community for what I'll call "old world products" or products that don't have a lot of information posted by the manufacturers. I even found a review about the dishwasher I was going to buy on youtube.

For nutnfancy's reviews.. To long. I just fast-forward though it or shut the sound off. Not every knife is "tactical" either. I mostly agree with his fav knives. Some of the knives are just goofy like the last cold steel one.

Cuterlylovers are very good, direct, to the point, keep it up..

There is this is this other guy on youtube that is pretty good to. He is a little monotone though. I like his style.: http://www.youtube.com/creativeoutlethobbie

LOL nothing like blowing your own horn.
I like that guys vid's as well.

Good Lord, I'm glad I never heard any of them using that term.

BLUNTRUTH4U was really cool but has been on hiatus. Maybe he had to do some time, he seemed like a hardcore dude. Hope all's well I'd love to see him back again.

I like NutnFancy a lot, his "jacked-up" high speed pitch matches the speed I think at, plus it beats having to find a shop to get the feel for a knife and garner all the little details that he conveys. Cocky? Yep, but who cares?

Cutlery Lover is pretty good but he doesn't seem to amped about the products he reviews though lately.

The Cajun guy is a pain to me, never saw him review ANY knife that wasn't the cat's a**. He either likes every knife ever made or is looking for corporate sponsorship. :D

AND they're all doing US memebrs a service IMHO. ;)

NutnFancy is/was a member too, I found a thread here at BF - (2005? I think, maybe 2008?) that he was participating in.

CL is cool but he mainly reviews junk now. It was refreshing to see an Emerson.

I wont apologize for not being interested in cheap crap.

I cant say much positive stuff about nutnfancy. guy cant keep his dumbass political opinions or mall ninja thoughts out of his reviews, and he aint a cop or any other type of LEO like he claims. military, yes, LEO, no. also doesnt know what an SnG is which is ridiculous for someone who basically puts himself out there as an expert.

and Im curious just how tin-foil-hat he really is, because the guy seems to be doing his videos from his underground bunker so the big bad government cant come and take his toys.

Expert? No I've heard him say "I'm not an expert" about 100 times. Underground bunker? Called a basement DUDE.

I appreciate both of them for what they do. I tend to prefer Jeff though and for a couple reasons. He seems more knowledgeable to me. Both do a fine job for the most part though and if the video gets you some close ups and shows you some semblance of size comparison, clip orientation, edge profile and so forth I see no reason to complain for what costs you a click of the mouse in labor to get.

Richard Nixon used to say "Im not a crook" all the time.

BTW I want to know where that nutnfancy discovery channel tv show is.

Picking on guys enjoying their hobbies on Youtube is a particularly petty form of criticism. If you don't like them, don't watch. BTW which one of your overpriced superblades was reviewed less than favorably? Or is it the 'value' items that are pissing you off?

i am going totally off the wall but really didnt know where to post this at but i was just wondering what this knife comunity thinks of nutnfancy and cutlerly lover the to biggest knife reviewers on youtube exscuse my spelling

I do not watch them. I have seen a couple. What they are interested in for a knife is not what I am interested in. If somebody else likes them, that's fine by me. But I don't watch them.

Nothing against Nut 'n Jeff, but I prefer MrDagon007's reviews. His vids open up a wider world of knife collecting and he has a great focus on classy EDC blades.

Although something about the timbre of Dagon's voice is like verbal Ambien. I don't mean this as a knock against their quality. But if I'm having trouble sleeping, one or two of his vids knock me the hell out.
