Todd Begg, custom knife maker?

Hi Peter,

I think they're at the Chicago Show, you might not get an answer for a few days.

Hi Tanya,

Just touching base, any news?

Thanks,

Peter

I could have sworn that you were giving the maker , "some point before the end of this year."

I would think that an e-mail would more appropriate instead of this venue.

Ptgdvc I think has another agenda, not enough excitement in his life perhaps? The Begg's bent over backwards trying to please him, if you read the whole of this post you will see that. He has their Email, yet does not keep this private.
I think he is trying to tarnish Mr. Begg's reputation and the only thing Ptgdvc has done is tarnish his own reputation.
Any response he will make to my statement will further enhance that fact.

Here is my offer to you Ptgdvc, and the Begg's would have to approve this. Since you are going to sell the knife for charity and would not be keeping the knife for yourself anyway.
Let me take over the contract for the scarmaker, when they deliver the knife to me I will pay for the knife myself, that leaves you out of the equation and free to do as you please.
My offer is completely serious, I am not being sarcastic. All I need from you is a yes or no, via Email might I add. No need to keep this thread going.

Lippy@comcast.net Give me a response please.

Agree whole-heartedly !

Exactly.....it's a real shame.....no class at all, bringing it up here AGAIN instead of contacting Tanya or Todd privately. :thumbdn: :barf:

Dawkind, GigOne, & BladeGoblin,

I am not sure what all the fuss is about. The Beggs only have to do, what they said that they would do.
This thread was placed in the G B &U by a Forum Moderator, NOT me.

I am certain that Todd and Tonya's word is as good as gold.

You don't understand what the fuss is? I guess my initial impression of you was correct, you have the I.Q. of a sea turtle.

2 questions for you, which you won't answer.

When you talked to the Begg's at the show, did you stand on a ladder in the middle of the room and shout your questions through a megaphone for the entire room to hear?

Or did you walk up to their table and talk to them in private?

Which of these choices did you make at the show?
Which of these choices are you making now?

Maybe you should consider changing your forum name to the Seaturtle.

No fuss, just the way that you're handling this.

I've read their comments and interpret them so say that it's going to happen.

I've also read your comments and have seen your actions that led to this thread.

You've asked them to complete their end at "some point before the end of this year." CORRECT ?

This indicates that you've left the delivery point in their hands. Which, by the way, leaves them the remainder of Sep, and the entire months of Oct, Nov and Dec.

If you desired a more specific delivery date, then you should have made that known, previously.

Coming back to this thread after you've given them an opened ended delivery date, is cheezy, cheap, loaded with innuendo, and low. :thumbdn:

Again, I firmly believe that an e-mail to the Beggs would more appropriate instead of this venue.

I know both Todd and Tanya Begg. And had the opportunity to speak with them at length at the chicago Custom Knife show. These people are of the highest caliber and integrity. You should have no worries.

Peter,

Since this thread was started we have had several more orders for this particular knife......interesting as we recieved very little interest in it when we first introduced it, so for that I thank you....though I know it was not your intent. As for progress, little actually, since we have till the end of the year we have pushed it back till after Blade West, when things clear up more and then we will do the whole batch at the same time.

I appreciate, very deeply, all the support from various people here.......and out of respect to us, please no more attacks on Peter....it is demeaning to us all. I don't appreciate how Peter handled this, he could have emailed me directly.....I ALWAYS reply, but it is his perogative to handle himself in whatever way he sees fit.

I would like it posted here if Peter decides to take BladeGoblin up on his offer.

Tanya

Yes, I would like a decision because it seems clear to me he does not intend on keeping the knife. If he accepts the deal, which would end all this drama, I can send the Begg's my name and address, I live 10 minutes drive from Spanaway.
I also have the utmost patience and don't need an exact delivery date. I have a couple Begg knives and wouldn't mind adding it to my collection.

With the noteriety this blade has produced, maybe we should all see it so that if and/or when it hits the aftermarket, we'll all know???

And while I might personally hate waiting, after having dealt with the Begg's since I first started serious collecting... it'll definitely be worth the wait...

Hello Peter--

Your gift to Doctors Without Borders is really terrific.

I do not however agree with publicly calling out Todd and Tanya Begg...they are great people who have more than once said that they will make it right as soon as they can.

If you let me have your order for the Begg, I will today make a Donation of $500 to http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/home.cfm and provide proof to the BF Mods, you and the Beggs.

I will then wait for Todd to make a knife (any will do) and I will then (so nobody thinks I am trying to steal something) make another $500 donation to Doctors without Borders.

No disrespect meant and I thank you for considering this--I hope it ultimately will resolve the problem to everyone's satisfaction.

With sincere respect,

Jon Ukman

(I am sorry folks if my previous message seemed out of context...I only read to the bottom of page 1 before I wrote that reply.... I didn't see or account for the developments on page 2.

I still feel the same and my offer still stands.

And next time, I will be a little more careful.)
