Traditional Knives & Slingshots

That's the color I picked for my new Axiom Pro!

Also picked up an issue of Slingshot World. Holy cow, I thought I spoke English!

It's more British than Monty Python! 😁

How're you finding that one Mike, looks cool? 😎👍

Mike won my annual Yorkshire Day Lambsfoot giveaway, and I remembered that I had a slingshot for him that I'd put in a 'safe place'. 11.00pm probably wasn't the best time to start trying to find that 'safe place'! 🙄

It just arrived today, so I'm still fiddling with it. So far so good. Seems well made. I like the way they integrated the fiber optic sight.

It was almost the red one, but decided to go boring instead. :D How do you like yours?

Like yours, mine just showed up yesterday and I am really loving it.

I also grabbed a Scout Pro and while I like it, I think I'm preferring the plugs to the clamps at this stage. I got the cranberry Scout, with gunmetal inserts. That was a 9 hour decision making process, haha.

I shot a pear out of a tree in my backyard earlier today and felt like a real Zach Fowler!

The little ones came out of the two small branches my stalwart Norway maple lost in the recent storm. They were looking a bit dainty, so I went back for that oak fork from Church.

The bag balm tin is just there. It might be almost time to carry it the 15 feet to the recycling bin.

Nice haul Jer :)

I thought you might find this interesting Jer

Yes. Thanks.

I wonder if the different sized prongs are a function issue. I was going to leave mine.
They would be Jer, because if one prong is longer than the other, the draw will be uneven, and shots will go off target. If the prongs are of the same length, but of different thicknesses, I've not found it an issue

It was the thickness I was thinking of. And worrying about ending up with less sapwood on the reduced side, but this young stuff is practically all sapwood anyway...

Speaking of inaccuracy, I think our red brothers made the pouches too small on those larger sss I just bought. I've shot gumdrops less wildly in the past.

The model below has very uneven tines, but shoots well. Pouches have got smaller and smaller. The equipment to tie your own band-sets is simple and quite inexpensive, and pouches can be made, or purchased pre-made in various sizes

Stag Saturday! :D

Nice!
My next slingshot project is to make marble-sized clay balls and see if they'll work in this one.

Interesting idea Jer 😎 Some of the more expensive clay balls also have a metal ingredient (maybe iron filings), which I guess is to increase the weight slightly 👍

I've thought of encasing something heavy, but I want to stay harmless. Iron filings would do for both.
Or concrete mix,
First I'll make a half batch and see how heavy the flour, salt, and vegetable oil mix comes out.

One good thing about keeping them light is that they don't drop in flight so much, but check out one or two of those Simple shot videos about matching slingshot bands to slingshot ammunition 👍
