Traditional treasure hunt picture game

NICE target and a tough one  Tough as the bois d'arc itself :D I have the knife but those trees don't grow up here in lat 63°North could try faking it with a Birch ;) Think I'll have to cry 'racism' and moan that this deliberately excludes non Americans:D:D;) Or were I to win, ask for an obscure Ghost Jade g-10 knife next to some rare Scandinavian Lichen :D

Joking apart, I'm looking forward to seeing one of these Osage Orange trees in a shot with a knife, come on you idlers!:thumbsup:
LoL :D Would it be Geographism? Not many Osage in Northeastern Wisconsin either but if there were any around me, I have no Osage orange wood handled knives either  I have a bunch of old Schrade cocobolo though and cottonwood trees ;)

I’m not sure that the request is impossible as much as it is a matter of timing. I know where there are some OO trees nearby me in New York, but with traveling for the holiday and family obligations, it just wasn’t going to happen within 24 hours.
Same here. I could have, but the timing was bad. After finally getting the last of my relatives off to the airport this evening, I'm not going out osage hunting in the dark. :D

Well I’ve been out looking all day, and I was about to give up, but I finally found an Osage Orange tree here in Minnesota. Also, I know that I said I didn’t have a knife with Osage Orange scales, but I’d totally forgotten about this 1 of 1 Rendezvous Special Osage Orange TC Barlow single clip point with matchstriker long pull that I managed to snag a while back.

Nice try, Wurrwulf Wurrwulf !! You almost got us!

Oops, totally forgot I can't use Photobucket anymore. Here's the photo posted on Imgur. (You'll have to forgive the picture quality. I was hoping I'd find a tree a little earlier in the day. The sun sets so early this time of year!)

I thought for sure that I was going to wake my daughter with the chuckle I let out after seeing your post. Well done, Barrett!

So Buck can do a 3-blade 301 stockman with clip, wharncliffe and coping blade in Osage Orange and grooved bolsters? WTH? :D

o_O:confused::eek::oops::p:rolleyes:;), <me and my reactions, I'm a bit slow on the uptake today. Must be the cold medicine, least that's my story lol

David, I have to tell ya, your reply to my first post was the perfect setup for my second. For that, I thank you! :D

Wurrwulf Wurrwulf , well done! You certainly stumped us on that round!

Now, since the rules say that when someone wins, the beginning of the next round is up for grabs, why don't I keep this thing going. Will Power Will Power complained that the Osage Orange tree requirement made that particular task difficult for members who were not in the US, so let's try something that's a bit tougher to come by in the States.

Let's see an equal-end cigar-pattern pocket knife with a Cuban cigar.

(Has to be the real deal, both items in one photo, etc., etc.)

Ha Ha! Cuban cigars might be tricky for some US residents...However, few years ago I tried to pay for Cuban cigars imported from Spain being sent here to another EU country, simple eh? Uh uh Paypal refused to do the order due to the 'global' embargo on Cuban products :( Had to use plain credit card ;)

I wasn't exactly complaining about the Osage Orange requirement ;) more in woe :D there's a subtle difference:D as I know it's not known in many parts of the US as well. My next option would be to ask for an opened Copperhead knife on top of a REAL LIVE Copperhead:D all in one picture no photoshop:cool: That's regional... and lethal .....

But, I would still LIKE to see an OO knife near an Osage tree-preferably a daylight effort....not black holes from space...:D

Thanks, Will

Barrett, @btb01 , How about this? Cuban (Cohiba Habana, Cuba) with a cigar pattern on a Cuban humidor box. Sadly, I am trying to rescue this one was a gift to someone who does not smoke cigars, so it got dried out. Not sure if it is too far gone.

If not too brittle you can try to moisten it with a sliced carrot put nearby (not touching), leave them in a box (wood better than metal) and be patient. The taste will remain untouched and the cigar can soften. Long ago I used to buy Cuban cigars in Budapest for ridiculously low prices, but quite often they were dry (even had worm holes once!) in the metal box . This method from my Ma gave sometimes good results. It looks like yours can be salvaged.
