Trophy Room - Hunting and Fishing Pics

Thanks guys. My beast is in the cow tank so it'll be fresh for the taxidermist. :).

There's about 15 feet of weeds around the bank there so yeah, we were definitely having to go in to get them. I'll be taking them out again on my next weekend off and we'll be taking a basket this time, we probably threw 25 bluegill back that would've been worth frying up.

The oldest 2 nephews had their turn this morning at a different spot.

It looks like the kids made a killing!

Captain Grog Quint on the other hand....

Lol! I actually pulled in a keeper myself, but that little guy was much funnier.

It worked!
It reminded me of the last time I went fishing outside of Durango and my 5-6 year old cousin schooled us by reeling in big Rainbows with her Snoopy fishing pole while we only caught smalls.

My biggest fish with Tenkara gear so far. Hiked up to Horn Lake in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness here in Colorado and caught this at around 11,800 feet altitude today...

Man that's a beautiful cutthroat! I'll bet it's a struggle hiking in that altitude though. The Cruforge version looks great too

I had to look up tenkara gear. We grew up fishing with a line on the end of a willow limb, but it looks like the Japanese took it to the next level.

Any ounce you save helps when you hike in the mountains. This lake was 3,000 feet up but some others are worse. Last year, I backpacked with a guy who had Tenkara gear with him and let me try it out. Caught a fish and got 'hooked' on it. My fishing setup before was over 20 ounces and now it is less than four.

Beautiful fish...and your knife has some great patina!!

A few pictures from last weekend's run through the woods....

Lots of wild onion in bloom, bears love it.

As they do digging for insects.

Walking in to an early morning tree

This tree had definitely been climbed in the past. Old claw marks...

Little squirt...

Time for one more, nice big boar this time.

One last pic, and then hook 'em up and back down the hill
