Trophy Room - Hunting and Fishing Pics

Just a carp, but man he fought like a son of a gun. Had the net and most importantly my net man. I wish one of the boys had hooked it but it was fun anywho.

That tickles. Caught the tip of my finger in the snap hook on the stringer. Didn't want that chunk of finger anyways!

You want big green carp go to Lake Mendota in Wisconsin, it is lousy with the things this time of year. :)

Fancier, I grew up in Madison and spent many summers catching carp in Monona bay off lakeside street on the curve we called carp corner.
Small world and good memories.

Back to page one!

Bear sign

Holy piles of bear excrement Batman!

Sow track with cub track on top of it. Old track, but pretty cool.

Bear candy

Choke cherry

Rose hip

With all that sign there must be a few bear around

Why bother to dig a den, just let the road crew build it for you. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and the spring runoff signals time to wake up!

Had to get the 2.7 in on the action, so off to find some dinner.

Oh sure it looks peaceful.....

It's all fun and games until someone nearly steps on a rattlesnake and breaks his fool neck

After about two dozen sardines, got enough caught to make dinnner

The bears, rattlesnake, fish, and knives are great and all, but tell us about the horn!

Kidding. Those are some great pics. I think Drain Tube Bear was shy. That's good I suppose.:D. That rattler definitely looks like part of the landscape. How did you like the 2.7 in use?

One day I'll be man enough to cook fish with skins and tails still on.

Thanks for the pics, great stuff.

Ha! That's my calling horn. I got if off ebay from someone who was selling it as 'decorative.' I think that makes me a dinosaur lol.

That little 2.7 is going to be as handy as a pocket on a shirt. Worked great on the trout. I used the CPK on the two bigger (relative term, ha!) fish just to try it, and ya, the 2.7 is the knife for that. Love the FK, but the right tool for the right job and all that. The blade contour on the 2.7 was real good for the gutting, better than the 3.5, although I'm not ready to throw out my 3.5 yet!

Your lucky to have access to a trout stream. That's awesome. I missed supper, and my stomachs growling. Eating fresh fish streamside is the best. And great knives make the fun complete...

I was getting a little worried. I purposely only brought some spuds so that I would have to scrounge up something to go with them for dinner. But then all I was catching was minnows ha. I was glad when a change of lure finally started producing.

Spuds, onions, butter, fish, butter, and salt... And butter wow

Thanks hk loved it. I missed most of the in-laws fish fry yesterday now the trout are making me crave fish. Lol. Loved the momma bear baby bear tracks. As for that rattler he just wanted to be stream side as much as you. I bet he was searching for dinner too.

Awesome pics as usual Hard Knocks! I'm beyond jealous of that trout stream, I have to drive hours to get to something decent here in Northern Virginia.
I was definitely spoiled in Utah..

I bet that's just a baby snake for your country. Worst part was I was rock-hopping down the side of the creek and he was sitting smack dab on the next rock I was aiming for. Middle of the creek looked better after that, ha.

Wilderness systems makes great boats. I have a commander 140. Hobie makes nice boats too. They have a unigue pedal drive system but are pricey. The bass pro brand kayaks are pretty nice for the price. It really depends on your budget.
