Trophy Room - Hunting and Fishing Pics

Nice smallie Riz! We've been catching a few 'cats here.

My dad layed into them last night again, wish I hadn't had to work today! He caught a 17# hog and is rubbing it in pretty hard :D

Wilderness systems makes great boats. I have a commander 140. Hobie makes nice boats too. They have a unigue pedal drive system but are pricey. The bass pro brand kayaks are pretty nice for the price. It really depends on your budget.

Practically nothing lmao. I'm not much on my legs being trapped in a hole either. I know I'll dump it a few times getting used to it.

TeX, you can get a low priced boat that is stable. Look at "sit on top" models not "sit in". Also you can find used boats for great prices, you just have to hunt for em

Sweet HK! Looks like a blast.

I worked that day and headed for the river that evening. The folks I was with pulled out about midnight, but I decided to hammer it out. Pulled in my driveway at 6 AM grabbed a couple winks and went to work at 9 AM. Up for 24, down for 3, ha! I didn't even eat a lunch that day, I just went out to the truck and slept for an hour. I'm sure not 19 anymore I'm still feeling it a little. :)

Hey Riz, I've never fished from a kayak, but now Tex has me thinking. So do your legs stick straight out in front of you the whole time, or how does that work? Spent a lot of time in a canoe but I imagine that's way different.

ETA: Maybe you're working around that with the 'sit on top' model you mentioned?

It depends on the boat you buy. Ill get pics of my yak and put em in the OT Gear thread so I dont derail this one too much

Me too!!!! But Dove season, my favorite, is VERY soon upon us as well.

Had a good night out with the pooches on one of our little rivers.

Gypsy being cute, but not much of a good luck charm!

Loki's a good boy for the most part but he slipped his harness and led me on a half hour chase. I wish I'd gotten him as a pup, dogs that can't be trusted off a leash tick me off.

Lone catch over 6 hours, but I'll take it! Nothing like HK's monster though, right at 5 lbs.

Took him to mom and dad's to toss in the cow tank for a bit.

I should have the nephews out showing them how to fillet but I think a nap with Gypsy is in order first. Pending sibling approval still but hoping to get the boys out tonight!

Heck ya, I'd take it, too. That's a nice fish bud.

Even when I don't catch anything it's a good time, that looks like a great time. :)

That's how I am right there, too, TT. Too bad we're all so scattered, it'd be fun to drown a worm together sometime.

Thanks for the scenery pics, too Grog, that looks like a great river for cats.

Love the shirt, grogimus :D  I hope the mosquitoes didn't roughen the trip too much, their covering our banks something fierce right now - many days of rain and heat.

It's been in the 60's overnight for a couple days, that's helped with the mosquitoes a lot. 👍

Went out with the three oldest nephews tonight, didn't get out till dark so it was mostly me repeating how to tie a Palomar on a Carolina rig. One of the boys pulled in a little gar that was never near the hook, it just bit the line. That was weird. Before that he pulled this in, and I'm not sure what it is. I think it's a smallmouth but I haven't seen one for a long time.

I don't know what that is. It's not a smallmouth, if you mean smallmouth bass. Maybe some kind of drum?

Drum was what I thought first, grandpa swore it wasn't. Hrm.

I'm not familiar enough with your water there. It doesn't look like anything we catch close around here. I'll be interested to find out what it is, someone's going to know.

I'd like to have this on a loop for those nights I can't sleep. Name it 'Sounds of the River' ha! Don't watch unless you're bored, and the room is quiet, it's just a coyote serenade and crickets :)

:( photobucket ate my video.....
