Nice. Are thoose edible or for other uses.

Yep, both are very edible and very tasty. The top one is a King Bolete, or as the italians call them, Porcini. The chicken in the woods, bottom one, can definitely have some chicken flavor tones. Similar to hen of the woods, just a little tastier, imo.

Works for me. I like slow moving food :)

But I'm not familiar with either of these, are they from California?

I looked for some more morels this weekend but struck out.

Yea these are from the Sierras northwest of Yosemite. I used to be a chef, so finding these gems are pretty exciting seeing how much we used to pay for them in fine dining kitchens. I love morels, perhaps my favorite of all. We haven't had much out here in CA even on the coast this year just because it's been so dry lately. Although I've got a couple more missions before the summer heat takes over for the next few months. Fingers crossed!

That old boy looks like he lived a rough life! Were you able to do anything with the head or tusks?

And how do you like those GMX from Hornady? I've had very good performance from the all-copper Barnes TTSX.

ETA: Oh yeah, extra points for getting a GSO in the picture :)

Nice salmonkiller. I thoight at first you got him with the gso. Was bout to say your way more of a man then me. I got one on video this morning. Pretty big ole bore roaming behind my dam on my fishing hole.

Can we upload videos or is that too much?

I don't have any personal experience, but I've seen guys like Chiral post videos that they uploaded to youtube. Someone with real experience would have to explain how that works, though.

I'm interested  Don't have any of these in our backyard, and he looks big.

So how did you do that video, TT? Just upload it like your pictures to photobucket?

He was above average for my back yard. Probably about 200_250 tops.

And yea i just uploaded it to photobucket from my phone.

I am glad i sterted this thread! My adventures have been few and far between the last couple of weeks. Its nice to see what everyone else does.

Same here. I like your fishing and hunting pics from the kayak too Riz. Looks like a good way to get away from the crowd.

Got to spend a few days in the hills again this week, chasing critters, catching fish and enjoying life in general :)
