Trophy Room - Hunting and Fishing Pics

Sorry, I see some of these are pretty rough. I messed up and let the camera battery go dead so these are from the cell.

The red bear picked a cool tree to get in. It's one you only come upon now and again. I took some close ups of just the bark, and then the den in the upper part of the tree. This tree had been climbed many many times over the years, and you can see the scars in the bark from all the goings up and down.

A big sucker limb where it looks like maybe the top split out and left a big denning area high up. What I could see of the inside looked very black, where maybe it was fire-scarred in earlier life??? Anyway, some act of nature produced one of the really rare trees that every bear living close knows and uses at times. I feel very privileged to have seen it.

Lol. I'm trying. Almost too hot to run anything right now. Did manage to tree this one over the weekend.

Pretty nice bear. He was probably pushing the 200# mark. Got this young bull to stand still long enough to photograph.

Lots of bear sign

And the huckleberries are coming ripe. Still a lot of green ones though.

Well deserved naps after a hot day of running

And don't let him fool you. He looks like he was sleeping but he was really stalking my 3.5

Guess I'll have to wash the trout smell off better next time, ha! :)

Dang, someone needs to clean that stove! :D

Great pics HK! I love hounds! I have a Bloodhound. He is not a hunter, just a spoiled house dog.

My 3 year old son reeled in his first two bass ever tonight! He also caught 5 sunnys. He loves fishing.

The pond is right in front of my house, which you can see in the background.

thats awesome to see younger generations loving the out doors. My father and i spent a lot of time together out doors and it meant so much to me as a kid. Still to this day its the best time i spend with my dad. We hunt and fish every year, as often as possible.

Muleys, that is a cool dog. What do you call him?

Well said Texas. That father/son time is time well spent. My dad is 77 this year and can still wear me out. Of course he slips in those power naps that I can't get, so he's good til midnight, ha! And that's pretty great you can walk right out the door with the boy and toss a hook in, Riz. Looks like he's having the time of his life.

Thanks! His name is Ralph. He's about 5 years old.

Huckleberries! My wife is going to Idaho to visit her aunt in a month or two. What do you think is the end of the season for them? She loves huckleberries.

Great pics guys. I drop in every now and again just to have a look. Love the 3.5 pics in the wild.

They should be good through July anyway, maybe mid August. The blackberries will start coming off in August-September, too. Will she be in northern Idaho or southern Idaho?

went fishing with my dad this evening, it was a blast.

Crappie, and bass were hungry. Hope they're like that all weekend. Have a safe holiday weekend out there. Get out to nature and have blast. Happy fourth of July.

Awesome time on a primitive trail in a Texas state park.

Had some Turkey on the trail.

A deer and her faun. Came within bout 10 ft. of us.walked along side us a lil ways.

The fishing hole.

My buddy and I caught these back to back. He said I was just trying to show him up.

Biggest catch went to me 5.5 lbs blue.

We had a bandit in our camp. He want the livers bad enough to come steal one right between my buddy and I.

I was a little disapointed I went to Bass fish and just lost all my lures. But it was a blast. I had a great time catching the catfish. In all we caught about 12-14, with the Turkey I lost count. Fantastic trip can't wait for the next.

That looks like a great trip TT. Those pictures of the water sure look like bass heaven. Thanks for sharing the trip.

Its supposed to be a great bass lake. My cousin works for the fish hatchery and he stocks a lot of the lakes in Texas. He swears it is. I have never had any luck with bass there. Just the blues. It was my pleasure.

Any chance you were at Toledo? Im from Beaumont and venture to Rayburn and Toledo occasionally. The cypress stumps sure look alot like Toledo. Looks like a great trip for sure!

I've been in and around Huntsville many times but I haven't done anything specifically in the nat. forrest. That area is typical piney woods of southeast Texas. Love it!
