tundratrader-where are my knives?

I asked if he wanted to pay personal to avoid fees. He didn't. The first payment was less than agreed price and then I told him he owed for fees. He suggested we half the fees. I would never have shipped a 600 dollar knife in the fashion I did if not for buyers request of low value. I asked simple if he wanted it labeled as a used camping tool. It keeps thieves eyes off packages. How in the heck could I have told the post office I would like 650 dollars worth of insurance and then claim a low value for customs. These emails that are being posted are being run through some sort of translation program by the looks of it. I will read the last few pages and post more later. Roman had ample time to pursue a claim through PayPal. I have no idea why he chose not to go that route. I will also find an email where I explained to him that the way it was shipped would offer no tracking. He replied something like "I blame myself for the knife not showing up. "

Here is a copy of the paypal payment. Clearly a standard paypal payment not a personal as he is claiming. He could have contacted paypal at any point in the last six months about this. The $15.00 dollars I requested extra for shipping was never added.

Here is a screenshot of my gmail account showing 80+ emails with Roman. Clearly I have been in constant communication with him.

Here is another screen shot from my email. This was nearly a month after shipping the knife that he asked for a receipt. At this point I could not find it. Since 3 weeks had gone by without any correspondence I assumed he had received the knife. I made every effort to search for the receipt.

There's been nothing much said about this guy from page 1 or 2. Same thing happened, he apparently is fighting through PP. Is this the same knife but sold twice? One below is much later.

I sent Zach $800 on 2/17/12 for a DLC XM24, he didn't reply back to me with a tracking number, then on 2/23 he sent me a tracking number that is one you do online. But I've check it and it was never scanned so may not have ever been dropped off. I have emailed him a few times and he said he is looking into it. I requested that Zach return the funds but I got nothing so I filed for a refund yesterday through paypal.

Well it looks like you both thought it was shipped and on its way TT. I think its just a costly mistake and who knows where its at now. Hell some mailman could have it in his pocket for all we know. Good luck TT and Kromanm with the outcome.

Why are you getting so involved as to send TT multiple emails and PM's about a transaction that has nothing to do with you?

I sent one email and one PM. I think it'd be good for TT to respond to this as its his reputation on the line. I guess you're more concerned with sniping at random posts than seeing this come to a conclusion. That speaks volumes about you.

I would think he was trying to help, a reasonable soloution is needed. Him reaching out, was an effort to force TT's hand....if TT cared about his reputaion.

That's about right. Given Kromanm's last post it looked really bad for TT so I wanted to see where he stood.

Seems odd, and intrusive on TT's privacy, to me.
I mean, I can see sending a PM, or maybe and email, but having to publicly apologize for sending multiples?
Weird.

Nothing is needed here, including "forcing" anyone to do anything.

Ummm...I am having a hard time figuring out this post. What privacy did I invade? I guess your definition of privacy involves sitting in a cabin somewhere away from society while making friends with your "pet" raccoon.

I will email whoever I damn well please without your BS remarks and dickless sniping. Thank you very much.

From what I understand, what K meant was that if TT can prove that he shipped it he will not blame him for the lost package. I think K knows the "$40 dollar tool" was bad idea, and will not blame TT if it does not arrive. If it gets lost (or whatever) in the mail, he will take responsibility and not blame TT. However, TT is not able to prove that he shipped it. Regardless of whether it was shipped in a paper envelope or the best shipping available, if there is no proof that it was shipped the seller is at fault.

This thread has been a major learning experience for me.

I think after reading all that has happened I am done with expressmail for anything expensive and am going to only use registered mail for anything valuable overseas.

Shipping in the US only is much easier for seller but If I lived abroad I would hate it if no one would sell knives to me simply because of my location.

Hopefully we can all improve our shipping practices and communication for all shipping International or otherwise.

I too would bet that Kronman's knife is in the pocket of some Russian customs/postal worker who, in a country like Russia would steel it even if it really was a $40 used camping tool. As for "lying" on a customs form, if the rest of the world didn't have thieving ass customs agents and postmen it wouldn't have to be done. I filled out a customs form to ship an Esee 5 to a buyer who knows his customs workers to steal packages labeled 'knife', so was I a crook for doing so? If I am then I'm fine with breaking that rule to help a good honest guy get what he paid for. Maybe Kronman doesn't want to believe that his countrymen would do such a thing just like after dozens of sales and trades over the last decade, did I want to believe on of our postal workers would steel the Siegle that I traded to a guy a few couple weeks ago but if it can happen here to a package with with no indication of what's inside then it can certainly happen anywhere. Regarding not at least going to the PO to try and get a copy of the receipt of some kind of record that it was shipped is a bad move on tundra's part but if he has a couple hundred +'s and 1/2 -'s then chances are he's a reputable seller. I highly doubt he just went rogue and decided to rip these two guys off for no reason. Seeing as how I had a dvd I ordered from the UK arrive yesterday that was sent out 2/16, I wouldn't rule out that the knife may simply still be held up in Russian customs. When I sold a knife to a guy in S. Africa he told me his customs could take up to 3 months to release the item and that country has a similar postal system as the U.S., so Russia who I wouldn't doubt has a fairly archaic postal system could take double or triple that long. Plus given the shear size if Russia, unless Kronman lives in Moscow, St. Petresberg or one of the other few bigger cities he might wait even longer for it to arrive. Hopefully he don't live in Siberia:confused: Hopefully this works out for both parties as I know first hand what this situation feels like and I'm still angry about it even though I received my end of the trade, I just don't like seeing good people get screwed over

That's because people are hoping others will "stay on topic" as just this one issue is obviously confusing enough. Whether or not you think that these 2 issues should be blended or that TT just might have sold the same knife twice (your question and wording, not mine), it is again quite obvious that currently everybody but you realize that staying on topic is, especially at this juncture, the most prudent way to proceed.

To bring up an issue mentioned 13 or 14 pages ago makes perfect sense if trying to accuse TT of selling the same knife twice........as your post would seem to say. That possibility may or may not have been lost on others, but your posts more firmly plants that seed. The fact that that same member has an issue with TT's business practices as well, in the context of this specific situation, will only muddy the waters................considerably.

With the exception of your post, all others see fit, and understandably so, to essentially set aside that matter in hopes of realizing and expediting a positive result in this matter. I know what you're suggesting in your post as I'm sure many do...........if this happened, then just maybe that happened as well............right? We get it, but I don't feel that it's fair to anyone to approach this situation with your inquiry fresh on their minds....preconceived notions and all. How could the average Joe Blow not be so swayed.....? One must remember that TT has also had some wonderfully smooth transactions, per many of the posts made in this thread. They should neccessarily cancel out "onlooker96's" post and only then can we take this situation between Roman and TT at face value.............as best that can be done given the "at odds" that they both exhibit.

I'm not taking sides nor attempting to find guilt with either of these 2 members as may be the desire or intention of some here, however, the fact that any member, new or old, does not keep vital transactional paperwork in order to verify his part in each and every deal, is really dumbfounding, at best. So much so, that I would not choose to do business with someone, if I knew that they kept their books in such a mess. The problem with that is obvious and then it will be too late......I get it.

So leave "onlookker96's" post alone...........and let those that have perservered through this mess finish off what they've got a better handle on than the rest of us......either because we've had no direct input or because some of our input and suggestions have been less than well thought out.

I fully expect that "onlooker 96's" issue will be dealt with shortly and I might add that I hope that he is reimbursed fully, if that is the result of his PP filing. No one desires to be involved in such circumstances, especially on the receiving end (receivng the shaft as opposed to the purchased item).

I hope that this TT/Roman issue can be resolved shortly and in a way that allows both to remain contributing members.

Two separate knives. I sold 2 DLC XM24's awhile back. The issue with that goes back to Longbeards post of packages not getting scanned in. He will be paid from paypal and hopefully I get paid by USPS.

I guess your definition of privacy involves sitting in a cabin somewhere away from society while making friends with your "pet" raccoon.

For some reason this remark got a chuckle out of me. I know folks like this, but they don't make friends with racoons. They eat them. Anyways.........

No reason to get angry. I kinda thought the same thing as Maniacal Pete, from the way you worded that post. I just didn't bother to post and ask. A mere communication misunderstanding is no good reason to battle, at least imho.

On topic looks like its time for Roman and TT to sit down again and give each other a bit to work with and come to a solution. Otherwise this could go on for months. Time involved and aggrevation is worth something also.

A couple of things..

Insurance is to benefit the SELLER only. By definition TT is the ONLY one assuming risk by shipping uninsured. I have sold many thousands of dollars worth of guns and knives on the internet and this is just the way it is.

TT paid at the most $385 for this knife and used it. He sells it for $650 yet won't even return the "profit" to Roman. At this point he fully intends on making money on this alleged "transaction" Why not at least return $265 to Roman, you lose nothing.

Is Rick Hinderer OK with someone using the firefighter/leo/military discount for profit? I thought the discount came with an understanding that the knives were for personal use?

"I blame myself for the knife not showing up. "
It was not!
paypal-in Russia, does not work as in the United States.
I can not begin an investigation.
TT-very nice tricks.
I did not know English. And I can not always explain everything. (But I try).It was not!

You may want to speak with your Postmaster. Two $$$ knives, one domestic shippment?? and one international, both gone astray.
Sounds like there may be a bad apple in you PO or the sort facility they forward to.
