Wow that spalting is indeed amazing. How come I see that not all spalting is the same? Sometimes I see it lighter and other times it's really dark. Does the color of it change with usage and cleaning?

These two I only use on wood, so they don't have a patina, just scratches on the blades that you can't see due to the glare. So the contrast between the grind and the spalting is enhanced. With the ones I use in the kitchen, the patina mixes with the spalting and it's not as prominent. Also, each knife is going to be different as far as the depth of the spalting and how dark it is.

One of these days I want to grab one that's FiddleTextured.

Two tapered Nessies for Tuesday (Camp Nessmuk / Desert Ironwood, Nessmuk / White Oak crotch).

Cheers!

Nice Nessies. It's marked as "green" in my spreadsheet meaning it's in the "next to be acquired" group. But all my best plans go awry.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to do, but could you take a picture with the normal stacked on top of the Camp to see the diff? It's hard to tell the size difference with all the curves they have going on.

I wish I had 2 FBFs to show. I'm still anxiously waiting on my very first one :)

Welcome to the addiction. When you start thinking of side-jobs in terms of Fiddlebacks, you got serious issues then.

"Let's see this client wants four ceiling fans, hmm, that's 1 1/2 Fiddlebacks."

LOL! Wow, okay I've not thought of it THAT way but yeah I can see that potentially happening. "For christmas this year, I hope I get '2 Fiddlebacks' bonus"
I'm already anxious to see what's in store for the next Fiddleback Friday.

Side question: Is there somewhere I can see like a comparison of all the different scale types Andy uses? It's really hard for me to distinguish some during Fiddleback Fridays.

Recently acquired my first nessmuk and I'm loving it! Super comfy handle and slices like a champ.
