Oh man that sucks and sorry to hear that but it might be a blessing in disguise since it happened sooner then later . Mine never really had lock stick except maybe a touch when it was new .Dammit, count me in, as well. All was fine until 10 minutes ago. Now it won't unlock without using two hands. I sent a message to DLT and will see what they say. It's been longer than 14 days since I ordered it.
So sorry man that really sucks, I'm sure dlt will take care of you. If not I know Rick will get it fixed upDammit, count me in, as well. All was fine until 10 minutes ago. It’s going on two weeks for me and no reply from Hinderer . To late now it’s on the way back to DLTI’d give their warranty a shot.
I have a Half Track with a issue. It took about a week but I got an email response asking me to send it in. The knife got to them Monday and they emailed me the same day saying they received it.
I agree that it’s better it happened now instead of later. I don’t get it. It’s like these are time bombs just waiting to go bad. Everything was fine and then it just locks up now.Oh man that sucks and sorry to hear that but it might be a blessing in disguise since it happened sooner then later . Just a horribly stiff lock bar . My thumbs still hurt lol hope I don’t have nerve damage on my thumbslol.
Also noticed like you it helped depending we’re you put your thumb on the bar but it was still teeth grinding hard to release anyway. The only way it was easier and bearable was the two handed procedure.
Yeah, I sent DLT a message through here and all I needed to do was send my order # to them. Waiting for the RMA # now.So sorry man that really sucks, I'm sure dlt will take care of you. If not I know Rick will get it fixed up
So True mine had a little lock stick in the beginning and it went away . I was hoping that’s why the lockbar was so stiff but unfortunately it was in the design instead .I agree that it’s better it happened now instead of later. I don’t get it. I just found this video. Look how easily opening and closing the knife is for him. Mine was never like that.
I’ve also been looking at videos again. None seem to show that happening. Nick’s review doesn’t show it, either. I’m sure he would have mentioned it if it was happening to him.So True mine had a little lock stick in the beginning and it went away . That’s funny I also went threw all the videos on reviews again like prior to my purchase and saw no such thing . Although on one viewed with Rick Hinderer him self While he was sipping on a fine beverage He didn’t open and close it many times and if I remember correctly he used the two hand method a time or two
Could be wrong though has I’ve researched crowbar lock tension that I experienced so much it’s all a blurr now .
Good news is my thumbs are almost back to normal now but my right one still a little sensitive and slightly mad at me![]()
I felt the same way my friend and also watched Nicks review because if it had that issue he would of mentioned it .I’ve also been looking at videos again. None seem to show that happening. Nick’s review doesn’t show it, either. I’m sure he would have mentioned it if it was happening to him.
I really liked this knife. I hope they get this sorted out because it was in my top 3 of my favorite knives that I have. I’m going to hate to see it go away, but have no other choice.
Just opened the box of my new Hinderer Full Track in M390 Spear Point. Great design, feels good in hand, AWESOME FLIPPING ACTION!
Unfortunately there’s terrible lock stick right out of the box. See the video. Sometimes I can get it to unlock with one hand and sometimes it takes two. A couple of times I had trouble with two hands.
I’m so $&?!@#! Tired of buying high end knives and dealing with nasty issues! My Sebenza had even worse lock stick after a few openings. Took almost two months to get it back.
The Hinderer XM-18 at the beginning of the video went back to the factory for detent ball work twice in the first 10 months. Was gone for about 2 months for repair. $34 of shipping out of my pocket and loss of use on top of an already expensive knife.
Now this $600 knife isn’t useable right out of the box! I’m sorry, but EVERY $600 production knife that leaves the factory should be opened and closed a lot of times to ensure smooth and perfect operation. QC before you ship the knives Hinderer!
Now I have to pay to ship this knife back to DLT. I’m officially done with Hinderer and other high end USA manufacturered knives. One bad knife is a fluke. The three most expensive knives I’ve ever purchased...

Your in good hands with DLT that’s for sure but yes it is hard when your excited to get a knife and find out it has issues .I'm new to posting here but not new to knives. Not sure if I'm posting in the correct spot however I have also had issues unfortunately with lockstick. Had 3 full tracks come through my hands and 2 had to be returned due to lockstick. It was the m390 version. Now Dlt Is awesome and they always make sure their customers are taken care of but yeah it does suck to be super excited about a knife then end up with lockstick hopefully everything gets resolved and some great ones come out
That’s crazy to see that on a hinderer. All my xm18 has been solid and smooth lock up.
I still want to get a. Full track later on
