Very happy to see a new G10 Grip!!!!

I am pleased to see how well these knives came out!I spent all funds on Christmas for my girls so I will have to wait a month or so.I am stoked!

Congratulations to all those who have scored them! I remove the pocket clips from all of my knives so I don't really care about that part too much.

I bet Benchmade will sell a ton of these!

In the meanwhile I will play with my REI grip so I don't feel too left out!!

I'm placing an order soon for both the full size and mini but I don't want to have the first production marks on either. Should I wait a bit to place an order or would it be okay to place the order now?

I would ask whoever you buy from. If for some reason the have with and without, you could request the version you want

The REI is really sweet...and it made me realize how much better a grip is with nice stiff scales.I really prefer the open construction with barrel spacers too.It makes it much easier to clean. The anodized green spacers look sharp too!

I like the color blue even more!

Like Rev I like bigger blades. The 710-1401 really hits the spot there!

But an XL grip would be nice...3.85 inch blade? I think that would work. And the polished stainless split arrow clip.I don't use clips...but the one on the 710-1401 is very pretty.

Even if my clip is installed in the box....

I like the bare scales...the clips always seem to be in the way.

On a totally off topic I replaced the floor in my bathroom.1927 house...it was rotten.I built new everything and it is now the most overbuilt floor in the house.I had to cut some flooring tiles...commercial self stick type.So I used my 154cm bladed 530.

It worked great. No rolls...no chips.15 minutes on the sharpmaker brought it back to shaving when I was done with the project.
Benchmade makes some excellent knives!!!

I think green would be a great choice for the next G10 version of Grips... I know REI already went that route, but sadly they didn't do a Mini version :(
If they offered essentially a Mini REI, i would buy a 556 and a 555 :D

Benchmade does a great job on their steel. Their 154 is a lot better than many people give it credit for

I just ordered a full size from GPknives. I'm very excited I do like the size of the Mini Grip, but I already have one so I thought I'd go with the full size one this time. I think the size/weight ratio on the full size Grip is perfect for EDC. I've wanted a full size for a while I just was kind of bored with the plastic handles so this beauty was the perfect excuse to pull the trigger. Now the wait............

I think it will be worth the wait :D

But the price $$$$$$$$

The price is holding me back too..... i just got a spyderco gayle bradley 2 for 128.95 from a dealer and seems like an absolute steal compared to this at 170+. Ill probably still try to get it as i like the low profile clip and the blue liners /20cv

It probably does seem a little high, but if you are used to watching people buy a new Grip, and spend 100+ dollars on an aftermarket set of grips, it really isn't
that bad of a deal...
It will be interesting to see if the market thinks the price is too high, or not. It's only 20 dollars or so more than ordering a Grip from the custom build program,
and at that price, you can't get G-10, or the CPM-20CV steel. You can get D2 and S30V though

Had no idea about that. Thanks for the info! Holidays have me tapped. Hoping for a gift card to gpknives :)

Couldn't do the deep carry clip anymore. Replaced it with a standard clip.

You're welcome. Yeah, the holidays get a little spendy :D

Need one!

Absolutely

I'm still trying to get used to the clip too Cody... I've tried them on a couple different Minis, and I like the look, but I like the feel of the standard clips better.
I'm thinking I might put a split arrow on the 556-1... I still have an oxide and polished version left over.

On the pre-order for a 555.....can't wait!

Yep... I'm getting a 555 when they come out too. It might be a little while though, because when I talked to Nolan at BM a couple weeks ago, he said the regular production versions probably won't be out until at least around the end of January :(

Yea, I just couldn't do it. It eats into my hand too much. I'm thinking about putting the clip on the left side of the knife so that it doesn't sit in my palm. Feels kind of good that way.

I just got my new Grip today and I immediately switched the deep carry clip out and put on my satin split arrow clip. It looks and feels much better I would recommend it.

I've been holding this comment back. I am normally a deep carry clip fan, but....The black clip does not go with the colors of the rest of the knife! I have sanded off the paint from the regular painted BM clip to achieve a more homogeneous look on a certain knife. I think that look would go much better with this knife. Look at me. Wanting a deep carry clip on every BM ever but not this one. What is happening? Coming back to this thread time and time again is not helping my desire to get this knife. Damn you guys!
