Very happy to see a new G10 Grip!!!!

OK, for a new dude to BM's, what are the real advantages of this model exept for the blade steel? Are the washers the same? What parts are modified?

Washers should be the same, I don't have one but many do. Big advantages are the steel, the G10, and the stand offs. G10 being the most desired change! Others will comment on this specific model and the G10. I've had 2 grips with G10 as well as the original and I can say it is a huge improvement. This version of the G10 keeps the original grip theme which seems great!
 
You guys are some serious enablers, just bought a 550HG last week now this 551-1 is really starting to tempt me. To many knives coming out at once, cant choose.

I haven't taken it apart yet, but I'm sure the washers are the same. No reason to change them, they have always worked great and last forever.
Other than that, there aren't many parts to a Griptilian...

I always liked the looks of the Griptilian just never pulled the trigger until today. Glad I held out, just ordered the 551-1 from blade hq.
 
Any idea if/when they're going to release other colors? (sorry if it was stated previously, I didn't read all the posts)

Not that I have heard. I would guess if they do, it won't be for awhile, because when I talked to Nolan at BM a couple weeks ago, he said all of the regular production knives
wouldn't be out until at least the end of January. He also added that with all of the new models coming out in 2016, they are going to be very busy...

I would buy this version to hold you over while you are waiting :D
 
I'm really liking my G10 Mini Grip, I had a spare deep carry clip that I stripped and acid washed. It matches the gray G10 nicely.
