Wanna Help Design The Busse "Woodcraft" Knife????

There, that's a little better :D

Build it, and they will come....

Just do a GFD Jerry! the design is already in the steel, you just need to chip away at it some!

I would grab your meaner leaner, and put a hump on its nose.

Call it the:

NUKEMUK !

I am with Cobalt and randucci (posts #12 and #13 respectively) on this but with a twist: straightain the bird's beak and lose the arc at the end of it of so that it becomes similar to what mymindisabomb presented in his design (post #6) while retaining both eyelets and its full width and giving it the ability to act like a chisel/scraper shaped pommel/skullcrusher as mymindisabomb suggested.

Perfect Tony G ! I would jump all over this knife...think ALOT would.
If anything, the blade profile could stay the same as the BAIII. Either way it would be awesome.

The true Nessies seem to be more focused on skinning in their design.

I agree, and I hope that a Busse woodcraft blade is more in lines with the BAIII than with a traditional Nessmuk.

So here is the "Camp 4" and why tax people should never use photoshop.:p

Man, you rival m1marty and some of his "chops." Ya'll has skillz. :D

I like it, but I'd rather see the pommel extended a bit and have a lanyard hole.

Maybe a slight thumbramp or just some ridges on the spine just beyond the scales.

I like TonyG's idea. He has shortened the handle, which I think is a good thing, but I would fatten the handle up a bit in width and thickness. I like this blade shape much better than the "Nessmukian".

I would also like to see the entire spine from the thumb rest area all the way back, around the pommel up to the choil slotted... not the handle material, but just the steel.

Tony, the knife you have drawn is fairly close to the drop point Hunter proto that was offered in one of the first 'Gaaanzas, if the end was flat instead of pointed and had the pommel exposed a little, it would probably work. The thickness of it is .178".

The bottom knife is the drop point Hunter Proto.

Size of the Mole Jack but with slightly thinner and narrower blade
flat grind
slight drop point
no choil, cutting edge right up to the guard
guard
no crinkle, satin finish od dc
micarta handle that can be removed for cleaning

I'll play...

... and add my vote for the various (and frequently repeated:thumbup::thumbup:) combinations like this:

4" blade
satin or DC
absolutely no choil
talon-hole guard
drop point
3/16" max. stock
full flat grind
DISTAL TAPER
canvas micarta handles, BAIII handle is a good model. Don't care what color.
No weird finger cut-outs in the handle - they are not necessary and reduce grip options (IMO)

Build it, and they will, uh, buy

Woodcraft is using a knife to make a piece of wood smaller.

Some people like to do it faster than others.

I think this is loosely defined as a utilitarian cutting tool used in the woods or bush by a broadly skilled group of outdoorsmen in an even larger scope of activities in said woods or bush.
How's that for vague?

As nice as Tony's knife is, I would rather have the shape of an SHBA just thinner or an oversized Game warden with just more edge, that would be more suitable.
