Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

I'll see what comes up.

I have a real nice custom made Sheriffmuir and vest that was made in the 1930-1950 era. It is about a size 38R. This would look great on a young fellow at the prom.It was worn by a gent, who in his military days ( according to him) was with George McDonald Frasier in the war (WWII).This gent tells of going to the telegraph station every day ,in his town ,and carrying the news from house to house in WWI ( there was no other way to get news). He was born in 1911.

Back from the symphony. Sir James Galway was superb. Here is a photo of my new Prince Charlie.

Well, since I have been recently deployed to Honduras for a few months I only have access to a woodshop here on post. There is an endless supply of mahogany (imagine that). The lathe works pretty decent and the tools are decent. So, I am in the middle of turning a mahogany beer glass for show. I got it turned down and sanded to 800 grit with one coat of varnish (that is all they have for a finish) yesterday, so I have to knock off the finish today and re apply. Not having access to blade steel and a grinder kinda sucks. you know, I might get around to buying a KMG with that travel pay when I get back.

Gixxer, you at Soto Cano? Do they still have bimbo bingo on Thursdays? Pour one on the ground at the Lizard Lounge for me please.

Yea I live right next to the lounge, but I am assigned to the ARFOR SAR team, so I have to represent at the Rally Point. They do still hold "church" on thursday nights.

House is full of teenaged girls, fiance's daughter's 15th B'day.... I'm in Hell. Shop isn't safe from them, send help... will try to hang on until support arrives.

Finishing up future mother-in-law's knife (neck knife, they do Rendevous) working on the ring guard fighter and a stabby dirk thingy I forged the other day.

remember the alamo (help isn't coming) defend yourself with a quickly forged bowie knife.

Slip, I put a piece of antler next to my grinder and whenever I heard the approach of teen girls I'd grind a little bit on it to drive them away.

Gix, wasn't sure who you were with with the Tampa, FL address but now I know. I've tried to explain to people about the Thursday night church but noone believes me. I've been to more than a few services and can't quite be sure if it's true at times. ;) Do the locals still drop off urgent medical care at the gates? Last time I was down there there was a multi-family machete fight and we had to work on 4 people using flashlights and chemlights.

I am actually USAF but I got tasked to show up here and do SAR instead of my job. No big deal really, it is a change of pace for sure. We have not had any urgent care deals show up yet that I know of, but they had mentioned that it happens from time to time. Yes, EVERYBODY carries a machete around here.

Still working out in the shop on one of my new designs. Satuday will be cleaning up the shop. I need to order some things that I am running out of. Sunday going to put some more grass seed down. That will be a good time to do it with all the rain coming in this week-end. How's your week-end starting to look like?

Got BBBB Beaver, Kook and Nathan coming over tomorrow. Will be having a big pot of corned beef and cabbage cooking tomorrow too. Portagee style with the HT'g relish. HEHEHEHEHE!!!

Start back to work tonight, on night shift... grrrrr

Tomorrow is fiance's daughter's big birthday party, live band and all so nothing going on for me.

Sunday, working on knives I hope, got the customer for that ring guard convinced to go another way so I'm having to redo that knife, the guard didn't look good with a small knife.

Heading out to start getting the float ready for the St.Patrick's Day Parade, today. We have one of the largest parades in the country here.Weather looked iffy for most of the week, but now looks clear and warm for today.

That sounds like fun Stacy. Me, I'm going my first HT in about two years! :D Hope I don't burn the house down!

I'm making a couple of sheaths and prepping a BUNCH of stuff for a hammer-in I'm demonstrating at next weekend. Heck, I'm even going to reline my forge! :)
