Whacha Been Up To......

Ya bet my friend. The interesting thing for a braider such as yourself is there are such a wide variety of bosals to be made. Part of the process of training a horse in this fashion is that you need a wide variety of bosals in different sizes and different firmness. We literally have a whole wall of bosals and bought another one from a braider friend who was at that clinic selling his wares, when we picked up Nichole's filly. A pic of a different friend, Vince Donley's booth some years back:

Braided bridle reins. I have a pair of bridle reins by Vince and they are simply the finest I've ever used. Period.

W O W! Just beautiful!

It’s always interesting following Dave’s posts of his fantastic work. I’ll give it a go anyways.😉

This little, but handy, Northwoods wharncliffe came with a floppy, not very secure sheath. Decided to make a new pocket carry sheath for it last night. Wet formed for a secure fit. Now I can EDC it properly and give it the use it deserves. 😁

Very cool! Very nice work!!

Thank you gentlemen.

Dave, your tutorial post on wet forming that I stumbled across was very informative and helpful. Thank you.
You bet! Glad to help. I'd kinda forgotten about that one.

Recently received another cool shot of some of our leggings and a Horsewright martingale/breastcollar (across the horse's chest) from the customer. This is Ethan and this was back east in Kentucky I believe, at a ranch roping competition. Cool shot. These leggings are chinks made from water buffalo with orange highlights and orange double fringe:

Been Travel Bag thirty around here lately:

These two we made for a couple of our nieces.

They are city girls but interestingly they both wanted our cattle brand on the side. Well ok...

Didn't even have to rope em first:

Nichole had so much fun doing that she did her purse too:

Then she made up these three for stock all out of the same leather:

I'm finishing off a batch of eleven sheaths and part way through a new batch of eighteen knives. Be putting the bolsters on today. Whacha up to?

Saddle stitching with different colors makes a sheath stand out, I’ve always used a sew-n-awl for many many years and only recently started to use the two needle style and liking it, here’s a soft supple milled leather slip sheath

I love the look of the “two-needle,” and so far that’s all I do. Takes a bit of time, but the look is so wonderful.

Sheath looks great, Gary!

Looks great !!!!

I never tried the awl, always the two needle one thread.

Thank you Mr. Duramax! I'm trying to have something consistent to offer. And yes that little knife feels so great in the hand! I really hated to sell it! It took several tries to close the flat rate box!

I was the same way with this holster:

Sitting on the desk ready to ship and I keep looking over at it and looking over at it and looking over at it....

Finished off a group of sheaths for outside knives yesterday. They'll ship out today. This one for a Blackjack knife needed to have slots 3.5" long. Due to the girth of the hnadle its double welted on the bottom to the finger guard area and then single welted the rest of the way. On the top side there is a wel trom the top to the slot.

Got a batch of eighteen knives I'll be working on today if the weather allows, raining right now and suppose to snow later. If not a pair of farrier chaps.
