What did you rehang today?

Thanks Siskiyou! Yes I hung it for use as a boy's axe. Does the profile look more like a hatchet? Feels pretty well balanced on the longer handle. For our purposes of camping I think it'll work as a great all-around tool.

No, the thin profile reminds me of the Scandinavian style axes. That should be a great little chopper/knot bumper. I'm guessing it's about 1 3/4lbs or so on the head?

Today's flee market finds! The double bit has a "TP" mark. Anyone have any info on this? I got both for $18. Good deal or not?

Didn't hang anything... However I did break two garden rakes and a shovel today... Which means hanging at least one garden rake and a spade shovel is in my near future. Hung a 40oz ball peen hammer yesterday.

Collins Legitimus on a 36" Tennessee Hickory Handles haft. This sucker is a beast. I refurbed it for my cousin who is about 6'4" and 250lb. Should be a good fit.

First time trying the banana grind. Or would this be a half banana?

I'd call it a banana grind.

If you're keeping the edge angle the same then the length of bevel will be determined by the thicknes of the bit. I don't worry too much about terminology. With the same edge angle one axe will come looking like a banana and the next will come out looking like a half banana.

Finished this one up yesterday. It was my grandfather's axe that was found in my uncle's attic. I was pleased to be able to reuse the original handle, keeping its history and "character". I found a makers mark, but haven't been able to figure it out.

oooooh baby baby! sexy grind~ ! great job, love the whole package! your cousin will be a happy man!

Collins I found at a garage sale all rusted with no handle. Lady gave it to me without charging me. She found my fascination with it so interesting she would not take money. I am passing it on to a person whose land we hunt. Hopefully he puts it to good use!
