What did you rehang today?

Here's a buck saw I made a few years back along with two of my favorite hatchets. Ones a Bridgeport that I made new walnut scales for and the other is a Craftsman mini that I made a haft for out of curly maple. Thanks for looking.

Curt, good luck and let us know how you made out!

It was interesting. More of a crafty fair - crochet, earrings, etc. Sold one. Handed out lots of business cards. Lots of husbands saying, "OOh I like that," and lots of wives saying, "ooh, you don't need that." I sold a 4 lb Craftsman double bevel with a 34" handle. Covered my costs.

Furniture quality. Great work!

Siskiyou, I am drooling over the saw most excellent! Not that there is anything wrong with the hatchets great job.
Rick

Siskiyou Woodsman - that is terrific craftsmanship on that saw!

I cropped and flipped one of your pictures:

Was thinking that, scaled up, would make a fine boy's/full size axe handle as well. Very well done there too.

Thanks for the kind words Agent: yeah making larger hafts is on my bucket list, especially in the boys axe 28" size. There's a guy called "City of the South", think he posts on another site and his scratch made hafts are the best I've ever seen. Are you familiar with his work?

This is a nice 3lb Maine head on another of those sweet handles. Only one left unfortunately.

Search COTS project thread 👍

Yup, COTS has documented most of his projects if not all in that thread. Definitely great inspiration for projects. I need to get to work on some more handles myself. At least now I have a nice template and I know not to use pear or fruit wood for axe handles.

Yeah, finally figured out what you guys meant by COTS...found the thread and yep it's there, all the eye candy you could want! Thanks guys, I'll study up on my acronyms and hash tags and try not to let that happen again. :)

As many as I have done, this is my first rehung Hudson Bay. This is a 2lb Collins Legitimus on a 21" ash handle with a walnut wedge. Shaving sharp.

Hi Siskiyou, just a shout out. That's good work right there. I have a bunch of projects sitting around glaring at me but have been quiet on the forums lately. Hopefully that'll change pretty soon.

JB, did you make the handle for the HB? Looks like a good one.

Thanks COTS, looking forward to seeing your work again as it inspires me and I think many others here to dig a little deeper on restores/hafts etc.

Nope, not this one. I got it as part of a lot of handles that were $5/each, and happy to get it. It's a size that you can't just buy, and I like ash. There was a ton of eye material to remove and a kerf to cut, but that's all that I can claim on this particular handle.
