What did you rehang today?

Hey Guys,
Here's a 3.5lb Plumb phantom bevel Jersey I just rehafted on a custom 36" octagonal haft which I carved. Hope you like. I was wanting a old school thin haft and this is what it turned out like.

Wow Wake31. If you weren't apprenticed to COTS, looking at this I'd sure like to think you were. That's so pretty I'd personally be afraid to use it or even dare to get it dirty.

Thanks so much 300Six!
That's a huge compliment! I love COTS's work. Ya although I hate the idea of an axe I don't used, it might be a wall hanger as there are a few condition problems with the head. And it's pretty! I'll see, I might swing it a few times and see. Also I used a peice of Hickory I had left over from another haft build and the grain isn't perfect in this haft. It was more of an experiment then anything. I'll do another soon on another jersey I have.
Thanks again,

That is beyond my current abilities. Can I ask, how many hours do you have into it? I want to make one but am afraid of the time investment.

That handle is plumb gorgeous. I wish I had the talent/patience to do work that nice.

That combo is beyond beautiful! Very COTS like. I really like the little details like the shoulder below the lugs. I hope I could do something like that someday. I do have a 3.5lb plumb jersey.... hmmmm... this little guy I should remove the factory handle and make something like that for it. I'm thinking something around 30".

traditionalist, just keep that handle around if you do take it off, most of the time they're the best handle's you'll ever find

Man oh man traditionalist, congrats on that axe! If the rest of the handle is in good shape it sure looks like a candidate for rescue (though the length may still disqualify it), but how could I turn someone away from making a handle? Blasphemy. You find the right piece of wood and I'll bet you'll find a dang nice handle lurking around inside of it somewhere.
