What did you use your knife for today?

Used my zdp-189 dragonfly to open the usps box containing my new strider sng.

Getting board of reading about Marcus Aurelius sooooo bam! New picture

Youre right! It does make things more fun.
Here is what he has to say about boredom.

"Mark how fleeting and paltry is the estate of man--yesterday in embryo, tomorrow a mummy or ashes. So for the hairsbreadth of time assigned to thee, live rationally, and part with life cheerfully, as drops the ripe olive, extolling the season that bore it and the tree that matured it."

Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180)

That's a sweet knife. Is that a ranger band you used to hold the striker on?

Awl of my SAK for cleaning the nails. Opie in the desk draw cut my styrofoam food containers in half (i re-use them once as a plate/bowl). Also used it to cut open my plastic sacks from just having moved cubicles here in the office.

I've been looking into the carbon fiber, It's really nice. How does it feel grip wise?

The tiny Protech's CF is quite smooth so its probably more for decoration than function. That's all good for me because its not even big enough to use hard and wouldn't benefit from any added grip.

The Sage's has a slight bumpy tecture to it. Comfortable and grippy yet not as abrasive as G10. Not sure yet which I prefer in terms of function, but the Carbon Fiber does look nice.

Used my new Strider sng to slice some sharp cheddar cheese, open the mail, slice up my neighbor, and a few other things.

Used my Grip today and everyday to fine tune my Axis lock opening and closing technique :D Oh yeah, I used my Kershaw Shuffle to open a couple of boxes! Will use the same tonight to pop the top on a cold one later

I pulled my Military out and opened and closed it a few times to hear the clicky noise.....

Thanks! And yeah it is. Just a big ol piece or rubber inner tube!

That's really hard to say. I use knives for so many things and so often during a 24 hour period that it is nearly impossible to enumerate them all.

I have a pocket knife that I use at work that got used for everything from opening boxes to trimming paper, or retrieving things that are just out of arm's reach. I also carry a pocket knife outside of work that gets used for any necessary task that presents itself, like separating a receipt from a coupon at the store this morning. Then there are my kitchen knives. 8" chef's knife, 9" carving knife, 4" utility knife, and 2.5" paring knife all used by lunch time today. Oh, and a serrated bread knife, too.

The izula 2 has a longer handle.

Thanks! And no problem. The only difference is the handle length. The 2 has a half inch (I think) longer handle. The micarta handles come standard on the 2 as well. But the blades are exactly the same. I like the 2 more because it feels like a full handle and less like a dedicated neck knife. I have a bk11also but the izzy 2 gets all the love partly because of the ergos. If you like the bk11 youll love the Izula 2. If you are more of a becker man try out the bk14/24. They have an izula handle with a bk11 blade.

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the info. And G.Moll, I'll definitely look into the Izzy 2

I used my SOG tactical tomahawk to cut down a pricker bush while I was out picking apples in our field.3 swings and pricker bush in the scrap pile.

My Buck Vantage got to tear down some boxes here at work. They didn't stand a chance...

I picked up a rat 1 a few weeks ago. I put it on a strop and man is that thing sharp, but it doesn't seem to want to keep the edge. I had it so sharp you could shave and then i cut up some cardboard and the shaving edge was almost gone. :(
