  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What is the ugliest knife you know of?

Any of the Aircats, the Tom Brown Tracker(from the movie), and any of the Szabo knives

I think the Van Hoy Snap Lock is handsome, but the rainbow/titanium is unattractively gaudy. Still, it looks pretty darn good compared to that butt-ugly yellow thing posted above.

-Benchmade Apparition- blade has a dopey shape to it.
-Most Striders, waaaay too much 'tactical' embellishment.
-Most Airkats, form over function it seems.
-Most Emersons save for CQC 5, 6, and 7, but especially the newer bowie bladed folder. Yeesh.
-Most fantasy knives, just plain goofy.
-Anything Case has ever done with an "OCC" logo on it.
-CRKT, most of their stuff, but not because the designs are necessarily unpleasant, it's the materials used. It may look like a Lightfoot M1, (or whatever maker's design) but all that cheap looking plastic completely ruins it.
-Spyderco, Yojimbo and Dodo, but these are so inherently foul looking that they're actually kind of intriguing. Schemmp Persian and forthcoming Kriss aren't too pretty either.

That's all I can think of right off the top of my head.

DISCLAIMER: I didn't say any of these weren't good knives. Just saying I think they're ugly. Don't want any Strider and Emerson fans getting all "hard use" on me. ;) I am an equal opportunity designator of "ugly".

Not to mention that it's entirely subjective.

Yep...you are right. My mistake. It's mokume. Technicality but....it's still a different pattern + color than the damascus and still looks horrible next to it. Total overkill.
I agree. The patterns clash. A plain blade with the mokume bolster, or a plain bolster with the damascus blade would be very handsome.

Anything with multi-colored laminated wood is butt-ugly. Still not as ugly as that yellow thing...

-Bob

i am afraid to say it, but striders...almost all of them. they may wonderful tactical tools, but words "aesthetically challenged" come to mind

I'd give a dollar apiece for those, but only if shipping were included.

-Bob

I might give a dollar a piece for them to not ship them to me.
