What is your sharpest knife

Hello,

My sharpest knife is
my little classic forged La griffe in 1075 carbon steel.

I can shave paper with it.

Then there is my Starmate #773 !

Cheers,

JM

Spydie Moran.

I split a hair into 3 slices (lengthwise)once when the Moran was new.

Next would be my SRK.

David Boye 10" Chef knife, and the Spyderco Moran. All the Boye Custom Kitchen Blades, are the best for kitchen service I have experienced.

I was gonna say my SRK, but I got a ninja sword with 2 dagger s that you can pull out of the sheath (don't know the actualy name of them). By far those things are my shrpest, almost too sharp, I have to be careful...

Sharpest thing I own...Dovo Straight Razor...cheating I know.

Knife wise-
CS Med. Clip Voyager, plain edge.
followed a close second by-
MicroTech LUDT-

My sharpest knife would be my Cold Steel Gunsite II. It is a good knife with a nice side blade. It has a half serrated blade and will cut about anything . I have even seen pictures of it in a car hood.

The sharpest knives I own are Cold Steel. I have too many to name. They are awesome work knives. Also I have a Benchmade Stryker in M2 and it is razor sharp.

I'll have to say Moran - it is my best shaver but my J.Martiini forged carbon steel puukko cuts wood (and other stuff) better.

By far the sharpest production knife is the Chris Reeve Sebenza. Sharpest custom is a L-6 forged blade by Tim Zowada. Might add that both are easily kept "ultra" sharp by my Edge Pro!

Defenitely my MT Socoms and CRK Sebenza and Shadow IV. My CS knives come very sharp out of the box also.

My Maurice Carter Fighter-Utility and my Maurice Carter Small Utility.

Both these have 63 Rockwell in the center section and a ~58 Rockwell softer steel on the outside (there are three layers of steel). The inside steel is Japanese white steel at 1.65 carbon content.

These babies are SHARP ......

To put my response in perspective, I thought it would be meaningful to tell you what brands my knife universe consists of.

I have been gathering knives since I was a kid. Currently I have a number of Benchmades, Cold Steel, Gerber military knives, a Buck folding hunter, a Polkowski Bodyguard, and other assorted odds and ends. Without any doubt, my Cold Steel XL Voyager plain edge tanto, San Mai III Master Tanto, and Urban Skinner were sharpest out of the box and take the best edge. The nesxt closest would be the Buck folder.

Pretty much every Cold Steel knife I have ever touched is the sharpest. The new Buse #7 is pretty damn sharp though.

Mine is almost a 3 way tie...almost-

The 3 sharpest knives i own, and have ever felt (and ive felt the edge on about every knife listed so far, factory and custom)-

Jim Crowell Hunter (0-1 steel)
Fisk Pit Boss Fighter (1084 steel)
Tim Zowada "therapy" (0-1 steel)

These 3 are very close, but the winner is

Tim Zowada "therapy" model.

If you check the edge with your thumb and put more pressure than wieght of your thumb...you will be cut. The blade "rings" when checked with the thumb...

RHR/ Grand made by DA Ruana. This small fixed blade of high carbon steel is so sharp that it has made several slight cuts thru a few of my calloused fingers when simply "feeling" the edge without my knowing it at first. Whew!

A close second is my Dozier "Agent".
