What about a simple neck knife type of thing, something like a Becker BK11?
4V unless the stain resistance of D3V or OD2/PSF27 (as Adam suggested) is preferred. With an integral cap lifter, it can open a beer without risking the edge or the hand, chamfered edges (aside from the cutting edge), simple kydex fold over. Maybe a 2.5" - 2.75" blade and a 5.5" OAL, built for a 3 finger grip.
Mostly being built for easier use, Wharncliffe or semi wharncliffe, thin ground with high wear resistance alloy, cap lifter, and the kydex slip can be drilled four times, two near the tip for neck carry, and two on the side of various belt and pocket carry methods (small tek lok, paracord wrap, pocket clip, leather belt loop, belt lanyard, et al).
Designed as a skeleton knife for thin carry.
Comparatively easy to produce aside from programming for it, less required on the finishing end and no handle materials need to be made. Just knock out the steel and sharpen.
Easier and quicker than most of the other models, but it gains in daily utility, while opening up your customer base to those that need a sub 3" blade and a nonlocking knife.
