What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Its a good thing I really dont like these Barlow things....

I don't feel so bad anymore about my six! Nice collection!

I am taking these two as my edc's on my trip to visit the land of Jack, my good ol' Flat Belly, and my Ebony Spear that sports Sarahs PPP initials :)
being a bit cautious not to take any blade over 3 inches long, so these will be great to have with me..

Packed in my suitcase - not on my on-board bag, should be ok, my wife's Step dad went home with his traditional gifted from me, as did Sues Brother.

Wharncliff barlows? Razor barlows? Was it a dream or did they make razor barlows already?

So far, the only main blades That I have seen on regular-sized vintage Barlows are these five:

Spear
Clip
Sheepfoot
Spey
Razor or One-armed Man

Out of respect for collectors, I will produce no more Spears or Clips for at least one year.

so, no wharncliffe, no drop point, my crystal ball says yes, a Spey and a Razor Charlow are coming. After next May 10th, I suspect a round of spears will follow after the expiration of Charlies 1 year moratorium on spears.. There may even be a fantasy trapper, with a spear and a sheepfoot... pure speculation at this point <g>

and, a picture in every post:

Shouldn't be a problem at all Duncan, I've flown with some large FBs and locking folders checked in my suitcase, perfectly legal so long as you're not carrying them onto the plane

One thing that makes a barlow traditional is minion approval. It is after all a classic working knife. :)

I like the steak-patina, Jon.

When are you getting on the plane, Duncan??

Dave, your drawer looks like my drawer!

Glad it got there, Brian!
