Very nice old Queen right there!
The next Charlow to join the family is my sentimental favorite of all the knives so far. Dedicated to one from "The Greatest Generation" and rightfully so.
Some people are able to accept set backs in life and keep right on charging straight ahead. While others never seem to recover from misfortune. You can tell just by reading the few short paragraphs on the back label which category Stew was in. I have known a few folks who, like Stew never quit giving of themselves. No matter how bad their problems got they just seem to know instinctively that they could help someone else by example. Showing them that they are not alone, and if I can do it so can you. I believe that is called unconditional love! Something we all could use a little more of. But enough about what I believe, lets get to the knives!!
The "Stew's Blade" release is made up of 6 knives, in 3 different scale materials, each in a single and a 2 blade version. Tang stamp #'s are 15A114 on single blades & 15A214 on 2 blades. The covers are Chestnut Saw Cut bone, African Blackwood and Rust Red Saw Cut bone. The blades have a long pull, half stops, the Stew's Blade etch and of course the "hook" for 1 hand opening. The secondary is once again in front of the main.
The front label has our hero's in their original position, the plaid vest is still present, a fishing pole has been added as well as the "Stew's Blade" banner. The bucket reads, Charlie's Hooks & Bait!

The Singles, Chestnut Saw Cut bone...

African Blackwood...

Rust Red Saw Cut bone...

Second verse same as the first! ;) No the 2 blades :D

Thanks again Dave, enjoy this nice weather---great working outdoors this time of year:thumbup:;)

Always a pleasure to get to see your fine collection Dave - and I really like the presentations.:thumbup::)

Good on you for assembling such a wonderful collection.;)

Wow- I can't say anything else what others have already said.

Amazing collection- Charlie just may ring YOU one day Dave and ask if you have one to spare :)

This has been great viewing Dave thank you kind Sir.

That's a nice old Queen City etorix - I wonder what the year would be of manufacture. It would be interesting to see when Queen City started The process of Spun pins and stopped peening their pins?

Robin my friend- a That IS a neat ol' Case- when they made 'em good- great knife.

I posted this in my other thread, but a package came in the mail today from Charlie, and I just had to post it again. May I present my pre-soup bone spearpoint TC Barlow:

To say that I'm thrilled with this knife would be the understatement of the year!

THANK YOU CHARLIE!

i asked the seller

would date from most likely 1930s up to the start of WWII

the last user of it thinned the main considerably and fairly roughly, leaving it almost razor thin

im sure i shall post it again after its had a clean-up and sharpen .. no rush tho

i also got a '84 Case Muskrat from the same source

i've often wondered about the earlier US penknives

and im a longtime enemy to rust, it doesnt put me off

Congratulations Dan! Charlie, he knows which guy's appreciate which knives. ;) Glad it found a happy owner.

Ok this is the last installment for me for a while! We are down to the latest release, Tom The Second!!
There are 6 Charlows in this release, in 3 handle variations, all have a single and a 2 blade model. The covers are, Rust Red Jigged bone, American Gunstock Walnut and 3rd Cut Stag. Tang stamp #'s visible on 3rd Cut pile shot. They were released this year along with the "Stew's Blade". All the rest that have been shown were produced in 2013 except the "PPP" which were made in 2012. The Tom's The Second, of course have a Clip main, and the secondary blade on that model is once again in front of the main. They have a standard nail nick and half stops.
The front label, once again has our hero's in their original positions. The plaid vest is still present, and low and behold there are tennis shoes, red tennis shoes. Up until now Tom or Huck (not sure which) has been bare footed. It must really be getting closer to Winter! :D The white wash brush has returned and the bucket states, C. Campagna Drake Oil. Also there is the "Tom's Choice" banner.
Here ya go...

Dave

Man o'man I like that single blade 3rd cut stag!!! I really need that knife. :)

Just like Lee Corso on Saturday College Football, NOT so fast my friend!
As you may remember Charlie had to wait and pick up his share of the "Tom The Seconds" at the GEC annual rendezvous. About a month after all his distributors had already received theirs! :grumpy: After that rendezvous, when I received my Tom's from Charlie he surprised me with a couple of the "Specials". 2 knives that I did not expect to receive because I was not able to go. You know, only for folks who attend the rendezvous.
Just like Dan and his Soup bone Charlow, I was completely bowled over. You could have knocked me down with a feather!  With all the other excitement going on, meeting new and old friends, setting up his table, picnicking, games of skill, and I'm sure conspiring with Bill :D Charlie thought about me and set aside an unserialized Oil Sucker Rod Stew's Blade and a Dead Skunk!!:cool::cool: Like I've said before, there's not many of us here that have not been humbled by Charlie's generosity! And that includes me, more than once!!
So here are the 2 Rendezvous specials

The Oil Sucker Rod Wood, 1 of only 3 not serialized...

You will note there is no blade etch like the Rendezvous Specials.

The Oil Sucker Rod Wood From the Rendezvous #29
Thank You, Evan!

And the Dead Skunk Acrylic, 1 of only 7, mark...

Thank You Charlie, it doesn't seem like it's enough but I don't know what else to say but Thank You!

Good Nite All.
