What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Duncan---outstanding my friend, being a way stop I'm able to live vicariously through you TC Barlow wise---might as well add the HJ's and other special knives;):D

Primble, I so enjoy the well nature'd banter and I'm getting quite good at the "between the lines" thing:D

ALWAYS a pleasure to see those Kentucky, New Zealand and Florida collections:cool::thumbup:

Goodness, Duncan,,You have hoarded quite a lot of the TCs indeed! It's great to see all of them together. While I don't posses the TCs you do, I do have the want to.:D

I cant quite describe just how these knives have taken over me - but they have.

Each and every one is just a pure Treasure - also a lot of those knives are dear to me because of where they have come from - or for example the Walnut from Charlie's Dad - I feel like saying they get better and better - but how can you say that when you have a ppp in your hand.

Duncan - Sir this is a wonderful collection. I can tell that each one is near and dear to your heart.
Thank you for sharing them with us :)

Thank you for the comments Ladies and Gentleman, Sarah - I am glad you showed your son the comments on his stunning work! And I do remember when there was never a TC in the house - let alone a GEC!! Charlie sorted that out!! Wonderful!

Its ok to say look at my TC's - but I want it to be known that I wouldnt have half of these if it wasnt for the generosity and help and kindness of others here in the Forums - Im guessing many of you would know who these "culprits" are, long ago I gave up the idea of being able to collect all of the TC's - but I am sure grateful that I have what I have.

Collecting - if thats the word is strange because at times I wonder were it will stop - and at times I feel I should scale down - but couldnt imagine that.

Primble Sir- Why thank you kind Sir for your kind comments ( well some of them ) - although I am at a loss as to where you would think that I would ever have started name calling :confused:Shocked Sir - Shocked!!
Its funny you mention the sig line as I was going to change that - people at one time were asking very regularly where to get these TC's - so I thought I would put that up so I could guide them to Charlie - and it seems obvious Sir that you know quite a few people out there eh? - as I am in Awe of your collection you have my friend - its wonderful to see everyone getting so involved with these knives.

I look back in the beginning and think now of the TC's that I gifted and now are absolute hunted treasures - the fact that the TC thing has grown astronomically - and those knives I wont be able to ever get again- but I dont regret that one bit - in fact appreciate the fact that that knife in the hands of their owners means hopefully more to them now than it did when gifted - I know I most certainly appreciate the knives I have been gifted- new and old - and they mean very much a great deal to me.

I have loved looking through everyones new Treasures and their shots - and like you Sarah - picture that person taking out their Camera - setting everything up - standing back and thinking "Yeah", if you watch me you would be in fits, many times knives just balancing after setting them up - only to have one fall and start off a mass collapse with the air turning Blue lol - but i love it!

To the great people behind the TC's -I just want to thank you for this wonderful knife - the stunning choice of scales - and for some of the better Cutlery skills and innovation that we are blessed to be able to experience.

I also want to thank the wonderful people here in Traditionals - our Mods who keep our place good -and too the high end collectors who still mingle with the ordinary folk and are generous in every way, I look forward to learning a lot more than what each and every one of you have taught me so far - thank you very much.

Obsessive collector that I am, I have agonized, but decided to sell some of my "backup" collection and a few other stragglers. I am toting this container to the Oregon Knife Show!*

I hope it brings a few people who are on the fence to the greatest knife show in the west!! 360 tables this year! Not too shabby!!
Most of the year, I sit in envy of all the shows that occur east of the Mississippi, but this coming weekend is the West Coast's moment in the sun!
Come and ogle and CF some fine old antiques, and maybe a few TCs!!!!

*Please don't flood me with messages! For now, these are going to the show!!

I fixed that last part for you Charlie as I'm sure people will be going nuts when they spy whats in that box. The dead skunk has me feeling weak at the knees!!!!!!! ;)

Im just looking up how much plane tickets are to the nearest airport to the show.........:D

I see what you mean Jake - looking through those labels is exciting stuff all on its own!

Charlie you may have to put up a stockade type of fence that allows only one person to your table at a time with those tubes on your table - wow those Ebonies!!! Oh My.....

Dang it, Jake! I was doing my best not to look at Charlie's stash. I don't even want to know what is in that box! (I can't make it to Eugene this year...) Charlie, please hang on to some of those "backups" for the 2016 show. I already have that one on my calendar!

I'll match Pill's offer and throw in an extra $10! I think that's fair. I'll even let Phill have the pick of the litter and at reasonable price! :). I'll send you my address. No point in lugging all those heavy knives to a show. Then you have pack all the ones that don't sell and drag them back home! :)
