What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Nice picture Jack - I think Earl's blade patina has improved since he left my area.

Paul: I know nothing.
Duncan: You know something.
Perry: Neener neener neeenr. ;)
Brad: That is one of my fav barlows (and Perry's too)
Brumby: Those are beauties!

A few of my fav's:

Not a traditional barlow:

HAPPY FOURTH EVERYONE!

It's great seeing these TC's come in. That new spey blade is just so cool!

The 77 went fishing with me today. The clip blade is perfect for trimming lines and cleaning out hook eyes.

And it looks like they got the "Blood Red Bone" handle color right...

Picked up this Primble today, later manufacture, late 60's into 80's I think, model 5922 with a star. Made by Boker for Belknap.
Photos of it next to a Boker Tree Brand of the same vintage….
Congrats on another sweet barlow, Augie!:thumbup:

...There are different variations/descriptions of Shenanigans. The latest description would read: See Duncan Morgan;)

This GORGEOUS African Blackwood Spey/Pen arrived in the mail today...sneaky, sneaky, sneaky!!! THANK YOU DUNCAN, I am very very appreciative of your extreme generosity. I knew something was a mis, when I was told by Duncan to cease contact with Barry and to basicly relax:eek:

A word of advice fellow traditional fans...don't play poker with Duncan and Barry!!!:D Yes our esteemed member Barry had a hand in this generous deception as well:cool::)

I love this Barlow and the story and Shenanigans behind it will always hold a special place in my heart:thumbup:
...
Congrats on the New Day Charlow, Paul; you're so right - it is GORGEOUS!!:thumbup: I can't think of anyone more deserving of being the victim of this kind of shenanigans than you!! :D:D Nicely done, Duncan and Barry!!:cool:

Bountiful, bodacious, beautiful batch of barlows, Barry!:thumbup:

My second TC Barlow (and first spey blade knife) arrived yesterday: A New Day single blade in copperhead pick bone. The knife has some minor fit & finish issues, but they are offset by an especially nice job on the cover coloring, jigging, and pinning.

Absolutely Corker knives everyone - I LOVE sitting down and looking through these photos - in saying that I must get out and try to take some flicks....

Barry....I no nuffin', what year is that lovely Cripple Creek? the other Barlows are just stunning as well - Whew !-

Primble the Old sly one - my friend when are you going to do a collective shot of your Charlie SFO's? - there are people who have special cameras on the back of trucks for Property Photos for aerial type views-this could help possibly?

cairndude - great choice - great knife!

Have to think about that Duncan. Did you forget about the hoarding thread last year? :D

I got so fat tonight! ::D

I would like to thank everyone for the comments on the Primble and Boker, I am really enjoying the search for these Barlow's, most I would not even know about except for the contributions of others in this thread.
Barry, I love those group pictures, also love the Primble.
Jack, looks like you are showing Earl a great time.
I love the TC Barlow's but so far most have eluded me. That changed this week and I was able to obtain a real beauty, Stew's Barlow in African Blackwood. If I read Primbles chart correctly there were 20 made in this 2 blade configuration.
Only my second TC, I've got a long way to go to catch up with some of you. Charlie has done a great job on these knives, so true to the the original traditional Barlow's.

Oh My!! willydigger, the plate of food makes that TC Barlow look like a miniature!! It's also making me hungry.:D:thumbup:

+1 :D

Jack, looks like you are showing Earl a great time.

I'm afraid I'm still a bit overloaded with work Augie, but Earl is listening to some music on the radio while I try to avoid the temptation to sneak on here! ;)

Great-looking Barlows gents

Earl is hogging my pocket-space at the moment, but I'm very pleased with the Barlow I received from r8shell the other day :)
