What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

My beer scout is my first #15 with a sheepfoot since my TC in smooth ivory bone. I didn't realize how much blade I have worn down!

Primble - That is a great Old Barlow :cool: And now I know we have something in common besides a love of knives :cool:

So was I! :eek::D:eek::D

Thanks Ron - I noticed the same age in that other thread a while back. ;):D

Wow Rob, the old fella looks great! I knew I was sending it to the right place. :D

Thanks again Mark. We need to keep our small town knives under a more watchful eye. ;):)

Wow Ron and Rob. You guys are old. I was only 19. :D
That's a nice one Rob. Nice going GeV.:thumbup:

:eek::eek::rolleyes::D:D:D

Rob, only you can make a humble, old Colonial look like something special!
Not that it isn't special mind you!! But now it walks the talk!!

Thank you Charlie. It is my only Colonial and a good one to have. :)

Thanks Brad, Primble & Shawn. I love the look of the Ivory and ebony wood together. Classic and appropriate for any occasion.

Rich

Another 'Aye' here! :D Those knives look fantastic together :thumbup:

Me and Earl have been out riding the Yorkshire Range today (full tale in the Earl thread) ;)

BTW Has anyone heard from Evan lately?

BTW Has anyone heard from Evan lately?

I've emailed with him over the last few days about a knife so I assume he's just busy! He has posted a few in the sales thread that looked really nice. Hard to keyboard when you're glued to the workbench!!

I'll throw this one up. I love the smooth autumn bone from GEC. Sometimes it looks really bland but when you get a good one...it's great!

Thanks for the info Jake, great-looking Barlow :thumbup:

I see him once a week or so. He's just been working hard and not had much time to post, you can PM or email him through the forum and he should get it.

Thanks Phil, we did exchange PM's a few weeks back :thumbup:

Sure looks like you are showing Earl a great time Jack. Here are a couple of Earl's cousins.
I've had the one with the S marked bolster, The SCHRADE marked showed up today, from what I can find out both knives are before 1946.

Nice tools Jake , especially the 77 Barlow. I was lucky enough to get the Proto-type of it , and have never regretted it. I do not think a picture can do it justice.

Well now we need to see one...I'm sure the picture will showcase it just fine! The tools were out to do a little repair on the truck exhaust. The barlow was just there to look good and supervise 😉

Sorry Jake , I can't take any better picture than the one you did. That Autumn Gold just has to be seen in person. Mine does not look better than yours does.
