Rich Absolutely gorgeous Ivory TC and the others aren't bad either. Here are the two Chestnut jig bone spear blade variation TCs produced in 2014. 38 single and 39 double blades produced. I don't know why exactly but the two blade was very difficult to find. Actually both were hard to find but I had the single spear for quite some time and had looked for the double for many months. Thanks to the BF member (you know who you are) who stepped forward and offered it to me--very much appreciated my friend! Lloyd

Jack,

Sounds and looks like Earl is having a great time by the extra glow of his scales......... :D

Cool pic Rich, may I ask what the mineral is, it looks very similar to something found near Sheffield?

Very nice Phil, I was just admiring your pic in the EDC thread

Hey Jack,

Its a nice chunk off a Amethyst Geode my wife was going to break down and make some jewelry with. Its basically a form of quartz that came from Brazil. But I sure like how it sets off the colors of the knives.

BEER makes any any Traditional Barlow better

Thanks Rich, yeah it looks great with the knives. They mine this stuff at several old mines in a place called Castleton in the English county of Derbyshire - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derbyshire_Blue_John

It was popular with the Victorians, but today the old caverns are tourist attractions. It was on a trip to one of them, the Treak Cliff Cavern (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treak_Cliff_Cavern), in around 1971, that I purchased my very first Barlow knife

Good week adding to the collection, another I*xl, Schrade, Cattaraugus, Shapleigh Diamond Edge and a Belknap Bluegrass. Love the natural handle materials on all of these.
I'm trying to add Barlow's to the collection with different bolster stamps while still being a good usable knife, none of these are mint but are still good solid knives.
